Hello.  My female has spent far too much time in the rain and in wet grass in downs for training.  FAR too much time.  Alas, I do see a bit of red irritation...no pimples per se but something in speckles.

Any recommendations to "dry" the area out?  I take it alcohol would be far too harsh?

TIA

Try diaper rash ointment.  It's always worked great for me with litter of orphaned pups that I have to clean.

Hi Tia

If any of my GSDs have a rash or redness i always put a coating of Sudocrem(zinc and castor oil cream) it works on babies and i have always had good results on my dogs,it does not dry the skin but heals and moisturises. You have nothing to lose.Good luck and let me know if you have a good result.Regards Shirley.

The best thing I can recommend for rashes/pyoderma/hot spots is Happy Jack Pad Kote.  It is also great for lip fold pyoderma and localize staph lesions. I order it from Valley Vet.

You can use the Miconazole Vaginal cream or spray also....

Same as the red /white tube the vet charges 16.99 for ...Dollar general carries this . It is antifungal.

I keep both on hand at all time., 12 mos of the year.
