I am more familiar with the working lines so I do not really know what is wanted with the posture of show dogs, but is this normal? http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/549260.html
It just does not look very desirable to me. JMO

OMG...that dog looks ill to me
why would you put that pic on the database????
by AandJ on 27 May 2008 - 20:05
k guess it's not normal lol. poor dog. So also I have one more question. Do all of these "show dogs" that say they have SCHH3 titles actually have those titles? Or do people on here just slap those down next to the dogs name? Because I know how much hard work goes into the sport of schutzhund, and I don't see how people would have time to focus on showing and competeing.

A lot of the show people send their dogs away for the title work as far as I have seen. I am sure there are some vey good trainers that title their own dogs but from my experience in Germany the breeders have another person title the dogs. I would say that the titles are real in most cases. The SV requires them for breeding. Of course anyone can go into any pedigree and put anything they want on it as far as this site is concerned. Unless another person questions it and wants it changed and makes a big thing about it.

What are you referring to in the picture that is so bad?

by tigermouse on 27 May 2008 - 22:05
very clever mr m zaki40
you have covered your tracks nicely that pup is blatantly deformed in the first pic and looking closely at the new one the pup still appears rather poorly (look at the back end!!) you might want to explain why the photo was removed so quick .

Here is the original picture:

The pup looks very scared and has her tailed tucked. It could make her topline even worse than it already is. Bad positioning on the stack too...especially the rear legs.

by Sunsilver on 27 May 2008 - 23:05
I am sick and tired of hearing people blame a 'bad stack' to excuse dogs that are horribly roach backed and/or have broken toplines. This pup's left hind leg may be a bit overstretched, but the right leg is right where it should be. And if you look at the other pups from this litter, they look quite normal by comparison, even though the stacks may not be perfect.
JMHO, and please, MI GSD, not aimed at you personally!
