Why is this dog posted on the GSD databasa when she is a gsd/mal mix?Stella vom Gunscrossed

Iam sure she is a nice dog but this is a  databasa for  GSD  not  a mix.

the database is whatever anyone wants it to be, including a place where anything and everything is advertised and worse, unscrupulous people can advertise. So, as in all of life, it is and should be, "buyer beware".

I sure don't mind GSD/Mali pedigrees as long as it's clear (as it is in this instance),  but hope to hell I  never see any Shepadoodle pedigrees listed here!

I know the owner of these 2 dogs.

I am sure they know what they are doing.

Cheers,

Jason.

I own both the Mother and Father of this Pup, and yes the owner did want to put the pup on here becasue although the pup is a cross breed, it still has fantastic breeding.

In fact the whole litter has gone on to be either fantastic working, sports or search dogs, including two with UK Police forces.

The breeding combination was done because of the temperamnets of both dogs and the type of litter we wanted to produce.

Yes, I agree that this is a GSD Pedigree database, and there is also a Mali database, but no where to register the combination, which leaves people with cross breeds not able to look at the whole 7 generations of breeding.

ugh, sueincc, please don't mention any breed ending in oodle(unless of course its just a plain old poodle) if you don't want me to throw up!

I don't see anything wrong with it.  Sounds like a awesome combination.  I bet that they do have great working ability etc.  JMO

I know that this is a GSD pedigree database, but as far as I am concerned the registration here of this dog is okay, as no one is trying to hide anything. If Oli has a problem with it; he will delete it.

I am sure all of you remember some threads started by Jantie and one (1) later by me concerning the trouble that was caused when the S.V. delegates were addressed by "then" S.V. Chief Breed Warden Dr. Helmut Raiser where he suggested mixing the GSD with the Belgian Malinois in order to restore the vigor and fight drive to the GSD breed. Of course he was ridiculed and speedily removed from his office, and I am sure it was not solely because of that remark. Dr. Raiser is quite outspoken and has very strong feelings about the perceived loss of working ability with the German show-line dogs.

This exact type of cross has gone on for a long time now, where people desire the lunatic fringe drive element of the Malinois combined with the larger body size and intelligence of the GSD. It is nothing new at all-it is just new as presented here.

Regards,

Bob-O

I have no problem with it.

I also think the combo looks pretty neat IMO.

Heres more pictures of this dog
