What is an average timeline for a GSD's growth? I'm mainly asking about male showline dogs. It seems that some dogs mature more quickly than others, is this true? Is a two year old dog done growing, or does he still have "filling in" to do? Is there any good way to estimate the size a dog will be as an adult? In horses, they have 90% of their height, typically, by one year of age, and you can look at frame, bone size, etc, to get an idea of how the horse will mature. Just wondering how people evaluate young show dogs...

The only male dog I've ever had is Chaos. He is now 2 years old and he's a show dog. He was done growing in height at a year old, but still needed to fill out badly. He is finally getting his chest and filling out in the hips etc. too. He's 80 lbs right now and I am thinking he will put on about another 10 to 15 when he's all done filling out. My black and tan, Princess filled out completely around 2.5 to 3 years old. She has a huge deep chest.
