I had a friend tell me that he seen this dog in Europe and he was outstanding "Jouri van't Heukske" Apparently he is the first German Shepherd to receive a 100% (440 points) KNPV I score. He even scored a 445 on his KNPV II, has also competed in the 2004 nationals (4th place), the 2005 nationals (2nd place) and was the winner of the 2005 national stud dog competition!

Has anyone else actually seen this dog with there own eyes?? I would enjoy hearing from others who have worked, or seen this dog in competition. Does anyone have detailed information on what this dog has produced so far?
To make a long story short I would love to see way more GSD's with this guy's social aggression level, the kennel he was bred from is apparently trying to bring more GSD's back into the KNPV program. They seem to have been doing pretty good so far, does anyone have any nice dogs from this kennel/male?? You gotta love people who won't give up, they are a good thing for any breed!

Hi Jogger, I see you are new to the db. Welcome. Do you care to share some info about yourself and your bitch, what area you are working your dogs in etc.? Actually there are several dogs in the U.S. with Heuske breeding that I know of. First ( and of course foremost for me ) is my bitch Remy who is my service and sport dog. Her dam is a Heuske bitch and her sire is a KNVP dog who just happens to be hi-lines. She is a very clearheaded bitch, strong and serious in the work. http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/485683.html
Then you have Carlos Riojas and Ikke who is from the Heuske kennel. A phenomenal tracker. Seven times FH champion in this country. http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/444273.html
It sounds like you are from the Eastern U.S. If so you may know Jim Stiles and his dog Blitz. He has competed at several nationals. His dog is a half brother to Ikke. http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/494536.html ( Note Iwan is also Remy's grandsire).
If these bloodlines interest you here are a couple of useful resources. The VDH database is known as Darwin and can be found here http://www.vdh.nl/2003/darwin/darwin.php. Good for confirming dutch pedigrees. Nice db but incomplete tho it sometimes can offer picture, pedigree, registration #, progeny , siblings and half siblings. Like most db search with less specificity not more. If you put in V.'T. HEUKSKE it will come up with a list of Heuske dogs. While not complete you can get more pedigree info than thru his site. It's a bit frustrating cause it changes with time - not for the good. At one point my bitch was in there and now no longer seems to be. Perhaps because she was exported? Maybe one of the Dutch board members could explain. You might also want to search Valkenplatz. Another Dutch kennel that uses some similiar lines to Heuske, also works in KNVP and tends to have little bit more attactive dogs. They have bred quite a number of working police dogs including a number who are here in the states. Their website is http://www.valkenplatz.com/joomla/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=21&Itemid=50 .
Another db is http://www.bloedlijnen.nl/ which seems to have been created by some of the more hard core working types in Holland and Belgium. This includes a number of the working dog breeds AND mixes which are common in certain parts of Europe. A new db I've only used 1x is http://www.working-dog.eu/dogs-details/44769/Ikke-van`t-Heukske > when the info is complete it includes height weight etc. Unfortunately often not complete. Hope this is of interest to you.

A friend in Holland (who also breeds with these lines) have told me that while Jouri was a SUPER dog, he was never a prolific stud. He has been known to have bred females that came up empty. That is why breeders use his other littermates.
I myself own one out of Rosco v't Heukske and imported a littermate for a friend here in the Philippines. The female I own is starting to show her civil side, while her sister is a super sport dog. The only other female here in the Philippines that is of KNPV lines is also owned by me, out of Querros vd Hoefstal and Laika v't Heukske.
The things I see in my v't Heukske females are: Hardness, Excellent noses, SUPER BITES. Retrieve drives not so much. Dominant as well.

There are times when even proven studs have thrown up empty females. There are a number of circumstantial reasons for that

I know. And it's a natural occurrence in animals.
But I know that the guy who told me that is knowledgeable (1. for him being in Holland, 2. for raising dogs for knpv, 3. he uses the v't Heukske dogs for his breedings).
Maybe Jouri has low levels of testosterone that's why.
