I purchase odorless garlic 1000mg pills. I was wondering if anyone knows how many pills I should give my lasa and puggle which are approximately 30 pounds a day.
thank you

Do you have a german shepherd? What is a lasa and a puggle?

Take one a day for yourself

None. Garlic is a member of the onion family, and these plants, including garlic, are poisonous to dogs. In sufficiently large doses (a plate of onion rings can be fatal), they cause hemolytic anemia, which can kill the dog.

I disagree with Susan: I have been giving my german shepherds garlique and powdered garlic for 18 years...I have also given Brewers Yeast with Garlic made by and for dogs on the market for years....Onions no....garlic is a very important agent in our blood arteries that keep the plaque moving...Onions have a different result in dogs...Luvmidog has been using the same garlique on his horses and german shepherds for over 30 years....I dont recomment it for any other breed as I dont know anything about and dont raise any other breed,

Garlic is in the Lily family. Cousin to the Onion.

Garlic has been used for hundreds of years in seasoning and medical and herbal uses...It is important to look at what kind of garlic you are using...Garlic has a blood thinning property and even though it is used in healthy heart and to boast the immune system, cancer health and other good things,,,it could be harmful if not use properly.., like any other herb or seasoning or natural remedy.
I would never give more than 200 - 300 mg. of garlic to any dog....I use garlic powder and my garlique is only 350mg..
The one you mention above is for humans.
Too large a dose for a K-9.
Also chemical companies make garlic supplements and they are not natural...so just research what you are ingesting.and make sure it is natural , grown and crushed , and dried from the earth, not out of a test tube.
Just like WINE is good for the body , but you can get very drunk on it, so it would be dangerous in the wrong amount...any substance we eat, drink or ingest or give to our dogs, is if not of the proper amount and derivitive, it can be harmful...
The commercial dog foods have Menadione in them , a big number of them , and it is a chemical...That is just as dangerous , because it is not a natural Vit K.
