I came across an ad for puppies off of two imported dogs, I did not know that such a pup would be so cheap?

$550 for full breeding rights

Could be a few reasons.  Show or working line?  How old are the pups?  If they're older sometimes people will drastically reduce the price if they are expecting another litter.    Are the parents titled and OFA'd?

OR maybe they live in Michigan where that's about all people can afford right now.

Sometimes when people have dogs imported and have not spent
years researching pedigrees, and breeding certain dogs to get
certain quailities to become established, maybe they take for granted
what they have accquired....

I also breed Labrador Retrievers, and the man I go to that owns the stud dog,
will set the price of the pups, you are only paying him a stud fee, yet, if he tells
you how much you are supposed to get per pup, and you charge half of that
amount, he will stop doing business with you.

The way he sees it is he hasn't been breeding certain bloodlines for over 30 years,
to watch someone practically just give them away at a bargain price.

Maybe its the economy, maybe its the bloodlines, maybe its just someone who's not greedy and who understands the market as it is right now.    I dont think thats a cheap price by any means.   Its sort of refreshing as a matter of fact.

So the parents are imported, big deal.   More info.
