I am looking for a muzzle to use for my dogs in muzzle fighting. For those of you experienced with this, what do you recommend? I went to Leerburg's site, which has several types of muzzles, but none are "recommended" for muzzle fighting except the one that costs $175. If that's what I need, I will spend that much, but don't want to and later find out I could've bought something cheaper. I don't want cheap junk, but a nice middle ground would be idea, something that will hold up and work well for what I want to do, but not top of the line, premo either. I've come across the Jaco Plastic muzzles, which seem like a great idea, but not sure they are what I need. How about wire muzzles? and the different types of leather muzzles? There are just so many to choose from....

These are best for muzzle fighting...I would not use a wire one (too hard on the decoy), and definitely not plastic (not durable enough).

www.rayallen.com They have very good equipment and will work on your dog...I have found that when it comes to dog equipment it doesn't pay to go cheap...wise...yes...but never cheap....You not only have to think of yourself as the handler and how this stuff works...but when it comes to protection work you also have to think of the decoy and how it will affect them...Is it safe...is it comfortable...
So you're right in doing your homework and finding just the right stuff for what you're going to be doing...Although RayAllen is sometimes a little more expensive then have very good equipment that will do what it is intended for and will hold up...I still have a leather agitation collar that I bought them from over 25 years ago...and although I now have others too...it's still my favorite...
