Pinnacle Dog Food - Page 1

Does anyone feed Pinnacle Dog Food? If so, what do you think of it? I have been feeding NUTRO!!!, the Ultra, supposed to be good stuff, but now I find out it's making all sorts of dogs sick!! I am so mad I could spit nails! It has been great for my dogs up until a month or so ago. They started having diarrhea and I immediately thought of giardia, treated them, most got better, but then diarrhea back again. I feed a lot of raw in addition to the kibble, so I guess this is what has caused the diarrhea to sort of "come and go." The more kibble I feed, the worse the diarrhea....so I think, it must be the food! Go online, google Nutro, and come up with all sorts of horrible stories! I was shocked! Worst part is, my nine year old male got really sick about two months ago, vomiting and lethargic....rushed him to the Vet ER...his liver enzymes were off the chart, but no explanation as to why! Put him on IVs, got him better, over $1000 in vet bills, but still no explanation as to what the problem was. Vet scared me to death saying he may have cancer, but thankfully, he did not. I now feel sure it was the food that caused this, as I found other similar stories from dog owners who have been feeding Nutro. Wow, this is just so hard to believe...I feel so terrible...nothing like feeling like you are doing something bad for your dogs! I may just go totally raw, but it's really hard, as much as I travel. I can get Pinnacle very easily near where I live, so am wondering if anyone has anything good or bad to say about it....

Can you send me the link on the nutro, I have someone feeding that crap to their dog and I keep telling them to get off of it.

I believe Julie Marlow of Von Banach GSDs feeds Pinnacle, and her dogs do very well on it.  I haven't even seen that brand around my area to purchase. 

The safest and in my opinion best kibble on the market is Orijen.  There are many members of this forum that use it with excellant results.
