The small stray project I work with in our area is in desperate need to help this amazingly loving male german shepherd dog.
Found several days ago and shot not once but TWICE in the leg as well as old buckshot in his body revealed by xray. Xrays show strong enough hips to allow amputation of the wounded leg. And he has been nicknamed "Tripod"
He will need his leg amputated and our stray project is in need of any funds and adopters for this wonderful black/cream boy.
Despite his significant injuries he is loving, sweet, full of kisses and wants to play. I have worked with alot of strays and this guy is really something special, thus I am putting this out for help

Tripod has been adopted! Thanks to the media reports, monetary donations came in to have his leg amputated and numerous adopters were interested in him. He will have a great home with an enclosure, and he was also nuetered, so hopefully he will not stray and get himself in to trouble again.
He always had a happy smile on his face and a lick for his care givers despite the pain he surely must have been in. He is going to make a family very happy.
Thanks to a previous poster here, regarding a pup with a chewed off foot, I was able to forward the information to the new owner regarding prostethic limbs. I have no idea if they will go that route but if they do I will update everyone on how they work out.
