I want to thank Upper Bucks Schutzhund Club for putting on a great demo today at the Pottstown Canine Relay for Life.  Everyone enjoyed learning about the sport and had many questions.  It was a great way to end the fundraiser and was awesome to see so many schutzhund trained dogs mixing it up with the pet dogs!  We had over 250 dogs walking the relay and playing games, etc.  All dogs and humans were very well behaved and had a great time.

Again, thank you Upper Bucks for taking the time out of your training to educate our community about our sport.

I wish you luck with your trial next week end and will be there to support your club.

Cheryl

Thanks Cheryl!

I'm glad that everyone enjoyed it and my schutzhund/herding dogs were mixing it up with the pet dogs!  LOL  And that it was well represented.

Bravo to the both of you for brining it to the public and I'm sure putting to rest many incorrect opinions of the sport.  I wish more clubs would reach out to the public like that and show them what the sport and our dogs are all about.

Regards,
Melanie

Melanie,

Kelly and David ended up doing the demo.  Kelly used her retired male Beowolf.

We had a photographer for the event - so I hope he got some pic's of the demo.  I brought my camera - but got so involved in the event, never had the chance to take it out of the case.  We had a lot of people I train with come to the event so I would have to say that German Shepherds were the most breed represented today.  It would have been great to track the breeds registered.  Might be a good suggetion next year.  Alot of the gsd's took the opportunity to cool off in the river after the event so I think the dogs had the most fun of all.

Again, I sincere thank you for the club coming out and for all the people I train with, you are the best!

Cheryl
