Silbersee is a first class person.  I have found to be very knowledgeable and more than willing to share her considerable knowledge with all of us.   My dealings with her have been all  first rate.     As far as I'm concerened I'm very glad Chris is on this forum and has chose to share her knowledge with us.  I for one have a great deal to learn and look forward to her posts.

Don't forget the topic of this thread. It's getting hijacked.

Chris/Wanderer/Chuckles--You are off-topic.  Please start another thread.

It's not Just the bite work, Hell what about the "belly-slinking Fuss", this is supposed to be a proud noble breed!!

The genetics of the 5% that showed good work is the same as the other 95%
And the ones that had a SchH TITLE to start with not just paper, should have been maintained.
Be able to play by the rules, and be treated & Judged equally regardless.
The Sieger Shows should showcase the BEST OF THE BEST Pernod.

VA 8 came off the sleve then came back, but the helper had already stopd when the dog went back. if you know anything about training. if a dog has too much pressure to out the dog will come off too soon when the helper comes to stop. Theis dogs are not national level dogs. they dont have too be perfict! they do the work! look at the full picture of the dog, before you wont to say somthing!!!

Maybe you should look at the front half helper work, not just the dogs!!

by bgstout on 24 April 2008 - 18:04

Minka,

The front half helper is an excellent helper.  How frustrating to have to work dogs all day with little or no drive and no obedience.

Then to have someone complain about the work is a joke.

I believe 90 % of the dogs could have been ran if any pressure were to be put on them.

The VA-8 dog should be better trained, not the helpers fault he had too much pressure from his handler to out.  Sounds like a training issue, but it is EASIER to blame the helper then to get off your ASS and train a dog to work through it.

So maybe you should reevaluate your training.... not just the helper work!!

I'm glad ya'll have so much time to spend fighting over anything and everything and each other on this board. Anybody in the East notice the PERFECT training weather besides me?

Dee,

I noticed that most of the signatories did NOT note their USA membetrship number.

Belly-slinking fuss?

Anybody ever seen videos of my good old sable old dog "Onyx "slinking on his belly to the start position for the courage test... just before pounding nearly every helper who ever faced him into the ground? (Gary Park may be the only one he didn't take down, to his credit and perhaps some luck) No points deducted for crawling on their bellies like reptiles in protection, as long as the dog maintains correct  slinking position and the rest of the routine is impressive.  Ha ha ha.

SS,

If "we" do not pay attention to problems in a national organization, we might not have schutzhund in the US in the furture. There are other issues that plague the USCA, however Dee has done the right thing. Did  you like what you saw in the videos??
