A while back I bought a very nice leash at one of the first shows I ever went to. I never found any others like it at subsequent shows, so I couldn't pick up a spare. It lasted forever... Until my pups got ahold of it, and the only pieces I could find were the brass clasp and the handle. I'm trying to find another one like it.
It was a traffic (short) leash., a single piece of braided leather about 20 - 30 inches long. It looked almost identical to this one, but without the free-ring on the handle. I don't care for the free-rings that much, I never use them and they bother my hands. (http://www.northcoastk9.com/Gallery/Aug1408.JPG). The leather was very smooth, buttery, and held up well in all sorts of weather.
If anyone knows where I can track one down, please let me know.

Jon can make you damn near any kind of leash you can think of, the leather is fantastic quality. I cannot use any other kind of lead now.

KCzaja - I have two of Jon's leashes and three of his leather tugs. One tug shows wear after nearly a year of use. I'm totally happy with the equipment he produces.

I think Bill Forbes from Fullgripgear.com has the best leather leashes ever! The leather is very comfortable to hold, and they last forever! I have had my leather harness from him for over 4 years, and it still looks great!!
www.fullgripgear.com he is in Sacramento CA, but he ships all over!! Plus he is a really great guy!!!
