Hi all,
thanks for all your help until now.
my gal is now 10mos old and she is doing great interms with people and other dogs.
she has been exposed to lots of things and started taking her to club.
she had heating when she was 9mos old and that time she seems lack energy and sleeping most of the time. she would play as usual that time but panted a lot so i did less play with her that time.
its been three weeks after her heating. she doesn't pant while heating cycle but most of the time she likes to sleep and lie on the floor.
before she had heating she used to jump on me and run around. but these days i don't see that energy but sleeping when at home and when you try to take her she is happy and runs like crazy on the field and rest of the day drops down.
is this normal? or has she changed her behavior after heating?
i'm currently feeding her royal canin with hokamix and i mixed innova evo canned food like two spoons each meal.
sometimes she gets yogurt like three times a week and raw egg crushed with shell once a week.
she seems running on the field but she lacks energy at home and most of the time looks like she wants to lie down or sleep right away.
would be glad to hear.
thanks

there's no way she possibly got bred is it?could be hormone swings, but it also could be an infection, is there any discharge? I would get her checked by a vet

i completely took off from males or from any dogs. she didn't almost played with any dogs for the last 21days while on heating.
maybe hormone swings.....but i don't see any unusual discharge....same fecals like as before....
surprising is she plays crazy and then drops and ifnot played then keep dropping....or lying....

I'm not sure where you live, but I am in Texas. It is definitly getting warmer here and my dogs are slowing done a bit. could be the temperature.
I would still recommend a vet visit. anytime you have a behavior change. She could have low thyroid levels also. but more than likely she is ok.

i'm in california yest the heat is getting alot and last weekend was pretty high.
i'm also thinking to try to use Vertex in combining with hokamix just to give her more boost while working.......

Has she ever had bloodwork done or hips prelimmed yet?
I am in the midwest and we have to use heartworm protection is that an issue for you?

it could be hormones yes. My girl, gets really goofy around her heat cycles. And also, if it's warmer than you've had, they will slow down.

Darcy,
Has she ever had bloodwork done or hips prelimmed yet?
----not yet. do i need to?
we have to use heartworm protection is that an issue for you?
----no
maybe i should give few more days or weeks, is that Rezkat5? how long would you see that behavior after heating cycle?

Its normal for a bitch coming into heat to be more playful and energetic than normal. And after the cycle she could want a little more rest than before. Mine go thru mood swings as well. The temperature rising may compound the desire to rest more. And she may be maturing in her personality and not so much the puppy anymore.
Unless something is drasticly changed I dont think you have a real problem just yet, doesn't sound like it anyway.

can you take her temp? the discharge that we would be talking about would be from her vulva, not rectally. Look below her rectum, where she pees from. If you are worried about her, take her to the vet for a check up.
The behavior stuff after a heat cycle can vary from dog to dog.
