Hello
I have committed to a young male dog whose sire and dam are:
V Karn vom Fegelhof http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/126606.html
V Rabia vom Stadtfeld http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/329987.html
A sibling can be found here, I think http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/532318.html
He is in training as a PPD and I intend to do agility and obedience with him initially, and probably, as I gain more experience with him and if I can find a club within driving distance, schutzhund. The obedience I do do with him will be with the schutzhund requirements in mind, and I will start him on tracking.
I am new to workline gsds and, although I am doing quite a lots of research both on bloodlines and training methods, I am not familiar with pedigrees yet (and I guess won't be for a long long time! ).
I think that he has quite a nice pedigree, but I would very much welcome comments from members of the forum on what traits they think I should expect from him given the dogs in his pedigree. I know much of his behaviour will be down to his training (which I have every reason to believe will be good), but do certain lines carry certain traits?
Does anyone have any comments on any of the dogs on his pedigree?
Am I right in thinking that the vast majority of the dogs in his line are West German, but I see some DDR way back on his dam's side?
Many thanks in advance for any insights anyone can give me on his pedigree.

Stadtfeld is a very good kennel and has produced a number of very nice working dogs with very nice structure over the years. The pedigree is pretty much pure W.Gr lines, although yes, they do go back to some very strong Belgian dogs who have some DDR breeding behind them.
I really like the pedigree--shows some good thinking went into every breeding decision. The Verwin-Harro-Gimmy bloodlines on the dam's side all cross extremely well to make some excellent dogs. I like that these bloodlines are combined without simply using all of the big names that have been bred so much.
On the father's side, he is linebred on some of the best-producing working dogs that are non-Fero bloodlines. Umsa/Caro/Grief. I am not criticizing Fero here--his contributions are incontrovertible--but it's also good to see some breedings that are continuing the other working lines.
So, altogether, a very nice pedigree, IMO--although not one that includes the latest and greatest "hot" names.

Thanks trueview and giblaut - that's reallly helpful info.
Does anyone else have any comments about the pedigree.
I would be interested to know what individual dogs in his lines were like, and what they bring to the table temprement wise.

Or does anyone know where/how I can find out some more information about the dogs in his pedigree (I have looked at the stadtfeld website)? Any leads would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
