Was wonderinf a couple of things:
What other insurance underwriters besides Sportsmans will underwrite a training club for Schutzhund, PSA or RING?
Is there a big difference in requirements in regards to the differenct organizations...DVG, USA, WDA?
Opinionated question but those of you who may be a member of multiple organizational clubs do you see a difference in the support you receive?
Thanks,

The insurance with Sportsmans' is a rip off. Ask lots of questions when you talk to the agents. READ the contracts ahead of time that you are considering paying for and you will see these policies are essentially worthless. They are also prohibitively expensive.
There are NO other companies in the US who will write policies for these types of activities and, if you tell any insurance company agent that you train obedience, have GSDs, or worse yet, suggest you do Schutzhund or other sports involving bite work, especially on your own property, you will probably find that you cannot get insurance on your private property or it will be cancelled. It is a difficult situation and no, none of the organizations do squat about it to assist.
The insurance companies are reacting to the bite statistics in this country which are incredibly high. So I understand their stance. But they are also uneducated as to what the sports are. Of course, the few bad apples involved who are not careful and have incidents end up furthering the concerns of the insurance industry and that is why no one will underwrite.

I did a bunch of reasearch on that a couple years ago. The only one that would really talk to me was Sportsmans. I don't remember if they questioned what club affiliation we were. She did say Schutzhund dogs were some of the best behaved she had seen.
The other thing I found was a really good release form, it was something like $15 to download it. It was for extreme sports but the majority of the verbiage fit so I changed the reference from "extreme sports" to Schutzhund and associated activities.

Hodie/Animules,
Thanks for the information. The club affiliation was more of an opinionated question in regards to who does more for the local club from an org perspective.
Animules do you have a link or know where that release form can be found?

Chris, I'll see if I can still find it and PM you the link.
