Walking the Pup Goran past a Farm Building this morning where two workmen were re poining the motar in the Walls, The main double Gate was open,
Out shot Two Jack Russell Terriers who went straight for Pup Goran as we went by, One had a go at the back Leg on the thigh of the Pup, the Other dog went for his Face, i caught the one who went for his face a smack on the Head and turned to the one at the Back grabbing it by its Collar at the back of the Neck i throw it against the Wall of the Building which stopped it interest the other one came again at the Pup and i hit it again on the Nose, actually i went for its throat but missed, but not before it s teeth grazed my fore arm, and drew blood
Both ran back inside, and i went round the corner to the Workmen, and told them to give the Farmer a message, that if his Dogs get out again i will kill them and then i will be coming for him, and to make sure he gets the message
I could not let the Pup go off the lead as we were on a busy main road on which the front of the farm is
I thought afterwards its lucky Goran was a long hair otherwise i think the Dog would have damaged his Leg. as it was he was he is none the worse for it

Oh no! Well glad no serious damage was done. I can just picture the JRT hitting the wall...no seriously, since I recall doing that once in a similar instance. Heh....

Bring a can of pepper spray with you for your walks. Poor pup, long coat or not, he could still have injuries that are unnoticed.
What about the bite to yourself? Can you get the farmer to provide rabies certs for the dogs involved? If not, consult your Dr.
Glad you are ok for the most part.

Thats what happens when you have IDIOTS allowed to have dogs.I said it before and i'll say it again, there should be some kind of law that requires you to take some training and commen sense classes before you can own a dog.Dont you love the FKN idiots who have there dogs loose everywhere and then call out to you "oh its ok ,my dogs are friendly".Its gotten to a point one can not take his dogs for a simple walk anymore.I sometimes have to put my 2 boys in the van and take them elsewhere just for a walk.Steve ,at least you protected your pup.Good luck

Reminds me of an incident at the club one day. We were training on private property and a woman came walking through with her little white fluffy dog---not leashed of course. Little white fluffy dog turned into Cujo and attacked the dog on the field that was working blinds. The German Shepherd just stopped and stared but fluffy got ahold of his nose and clamped down. Next thing I knew, fluffy was flying through the air compliments of the handler's boot. It was a magic moment.

Steve1, have you considered reporting the incident to the local animal control authorities? You were attacked, you have a wound to show for it, and you do have witnesses. The next person who encounters these JRTs might fare worse.

Wow-sorry to hear about your experience, Steve.
Hope the situation didn't traumatize your pup!
I'd be checking into the whole thing with the bite, too-there's tons of bacteria that resides in the mouth of animals and can make the wound extremely painful and make you potentially sick.
We'll hope both you & your pup are fortunate and never have to deal with such again!

I bring a hand held stun gun with me when I walk my dog also a small walking stick. While walking Gunner the other day this lab cross who I have had plenty of trouble with thru the years came chargeing down his drive way at full speed. Guinner stoped and turned to face him giving him this ice cold stare the lab came to a sudden stop sliding forward and stopped barking Gunner didn't move a muscle just stared at him the lab turned around with his tail between his legs ears down and whimped his way back up the driveway. My last GSD got into a blood and guts all out fight with this lab but Gunner stood his ground in a rock steady stance and stared the lab down. Gunner then proceeded to do his business on the labs lawn and he went on like nothing had happened.

Back in the days when my husband and my GSD Tasha were still around, one of our neighbours owned a Jack Russell. My dog book says they'll attack anything that moves, and the only suitable companion is a horse! I can well believe it. They're feisty little buggers!
Anyway, Idiot Neighbour was washing his car, and had the dog off leash. As Roger and Tasha came walking by, he came roaring down the driveway, barking. Roger told Tasha to sit, and she did. When the Jackie got close enough, he leaped for Tasha's throat. She knocked him down with one paw, pinned him to the ground, and bit him on the bum.
He lost interest in the fignt, and went kiyiing back up the driveway to his master.
My husband apologized, but mentioned the fact the dog SHOULD have been leashed, as ours was, then asked if the dog was hurt.
The owner shrugged. "Only his dignity!" he replied.
Next morning, a very apologetic Owner's Wife was at our door, asking if Tasha had had her rabies shot, as they later found her teeth had drawn blood.
In the 14 years we had her, it was the only time she ever bit another dog, but he sure as hell deserved it.
Wouldn't have minded if she'd bitten the Idiot Owner for good measure!
