I'm trying to obtain pedigree info on 2 dogs that are not in the DB, but are AKC registered.  Have full names and AKC reg #s, is there some place I can go online to get the info?

Thanks,

-Calvin

www.akc.org

I believe that you can order certified pedigrees on their website.

Not looking to pay for anything, just researching a breeding for someone interested in a pup.

You can order a pedigree through AKC. Prices start at $10.  Maybe this will help?   https://www.akc.org/reg/pedigrees.cfm

I'm not sure of how else you can get that pedigree info.  Maybe someone else has an idea.

Calvin, try here if the dogs have O.F.A. numbers: http://offa.org/ Otherwise, you will need to go to the A.K.C. store at: http://www.akc.org/shop/index.cfm?nav_area=online_store develop a username and password and buy a couple of research pedigrees. As was mentioned above, the cost for each is about $10.00.

If you can find a champion in one (1) of the pedigrees it does become easier (and cheaper) if you can find the champion on a page such as this one: http://www.angelfire.com/wi/gsdpedigrees/amgsdpeds.html

Or this one from the G.S.D.C.A archives: http://www.gsdca.org/GSDReviewed/Ldogs/index.html You can search by the firste letter of the dog's given name.

Good Luck!

Sometimes you can get lucky with a web search of the name, or the kennel name. Many kennels post pedigrees for their dogs.

FerrumGSD's, who posts on this board, is very knowledgeable about AKC pedigrees, and has copies of the red books. You might try contacting her to see if she can help.

Ask the breeder for copies of the pedigrees.  If they can't or won't comply don't buy the pup.  Saves the AKC fees and the later heart break from dealing with a breeder who is not taking care of business.
