Tiekerhook bred some great dogs and great producing dogs. But yes, he is line breeding on Fero and really boxing himself into a corner. WAY too much linebreeding - no matter who the dog is. And yep, I have seen a few Tiekerhook dogs who are ugly too - esp females - luckily some of them produced some much much better looking males when bred to good looking males. Also, have seen environmental nerve problems galore in many Tiekerhook connections - dogs who wont' climb steps or bleachers at stadiums, won't walk along the seats in the stands for example - have to be tugged and coerced. Anyone getting anything with Tiekerhook/Fero or actually any pup should really try to see the parents of the pup in other enviornments, non controlled environemnts KNOWING that there CAN be issues with those lines!

Well I know that "Tiekerhook Kennels" are now using Nick a lot...in fact...they now own Nick...I also have a Nick son out of Doxa van Tiekerhook...he's a very nice working dog and a very nice looking dog...something thats very hard to get...good conformation out of "working lines"...but I know that Nick throws very good conformation...the only thing is that he also throws small heads...which I am also trying to do something about...I'm getting a Rambo van Tiekerhook X Noerie van Tiekerhook (Lindsey's daughter) puppy...I wanted to stay away from Nick as far as I can...

Why did you decide to NOT get a Rambo puppy?...And do you remember the Dam?...I wanted something that was not as close to Nick as possible...most of what Tiekerhook is producing now comes from Nick...What puppy did you finally decide on?...

Hello I have bought a puppy from Mr. Hassing at Tiekerhook kennels. My puppy was a female out of Nick/Talia. She came up with really bad hips at 5 months. I sent Mr. Hassing the x-rays and he replaced my pup with a pup out of ludo/gina litter with no problem at all. He let me pick my pup from any of his litters. He's a person that stands by his guareentees. I plan to get my next pup from him next year.

Actually I have a friend that got a Nick X Taila female that came up with a bad hip also

The Nick dogs I've seen do have small heads. Some of Bithces are not the prettiest, but remember, that's not Koos's main point of his Breeding. I'm sure he is linebreeding too much on Fero, but if he is just careful, things will be fine. He is probably doing so cause he has people that want them and that are buying them. This goes for everything, if people don't want something or don't have the need for something, it stops being made. Like I said before, there will always be a glitch in everything that he and other Breeders produce. With Koos's experience, I'm sure he wouldn't do anything to jeopardize(?) his Breed. I see he has line bred 2-2 to Nick recently, can I get some comments on this breeding.

by WolfGang on 05 November 2004 - 02:11

I believe it's Gina X Lex...and she's not due to whelp until Nov 8...so it'll be soon...Koos even says that it's a "Big Experiment"...actually it might not be so bad...if you know the lines....!

Hi,

Saw an ad about a 1/2 Tiekerhook litter...so i thought i might revive this old thread.

Comments anyone.....still linebred, Fero influence, etc.

Logan haus kennels had a  litter direct from Tiekerhook that's 2-2 on Nick. Don't know how old they are might want to contact them and see what's come of that.
