I think man is fooling himself when it comes to wolves. They will only survive in wilderness area's away from man, and those area's are few and far between. Its good that they are back in yellowstone with the bear and the buffalo but they only have to leave the protection of the park to be killed. I am an admirer of the wolf and wilderness, its a shame that there are not more wild place's and less concrete.

This can be a bad thing Vikram. It's people like Bruce, that disgusting heartless man being interviewed, who would rather see the wolves extinct then running wild in yellowstone. I think it's sad that people are still wanting to haunt wolves,. The wolf is a such a beautiful creature to look at.
I would rather have the wolves be put back on the endangered species list then without, at least they'll have some protection from the disgusting mankind that wants to haunt these living creatures.

If I were wealthy, I would love to join the hunt...that is, hunting the two legged varmints that hunt wolves.

Two Moons,
Oh that video made me burst into tears! what a beautiful video! Why would anyone want to kill these beautiful creatures? Where is the fricken compassion? I'm so emotional that it eats me alive knowing that theirs fricken morons up in airplanes chasing wolves nearly exhausting the poor things and then shooting them dead in places like Alaska! We dare to call ourselves the dominance species on this planet? All we can do is create animosity and destruction. People who hunt down these beautiful creatures are no more then the evil character, Cruella De Vil, on 101 dalmatians.

I know it isn't PC on this board to say that the hunting is necessary but I will say it anyway. It is unfortunately needed due to the lack of land for the wolves. With the U.S. being so populated there is less land for the wolves to live on. So the population of wolves has to be regulated. Over population will cause many problems. Problems with humans when the wolves come into residential areas to try and find food. Also the unfortunate fact that many wolves would die an terrible death by starvation due to lack of food to feed all the wolves if the population is left unchecked. Instead the government will receive money from the hunting fees... hopefully that some of that money will go for preservation efforts of wildlife.
It's unfortunate, but the open land in America just isn't enough to support how many wolves that nature can produce.
I would hope that they would first relocate some of the wolves to wildlife areas that had a smaller population of natural wolves first. I will also add I have never hunted a wolf and do not intend too, but these are just the plain facts.

Brittany & Others,
Spend time in the North woods of WI, MI, MN, MT, ID. Have your dogs hamstrung, stretched out & then killed by a pack. Have your livestock killed en masse, by them, some never eaten or touched. Have your native & Wild elk herds decimated.
There has to be a balance. Man is the top predator. I Oppose laws that dont allow shooting at wolves. They need a healthier Fear OF humans. The current laws dont allow that. Wolves are doing what I described. Killing dogs, pets, & Livestock. Compensation is given but tell that to a pet owner. Its a matter of time before something worse happens. I think a human was killed by a pack in Alberta a few years ago, hiking back to his cabin.
I dont favor aerial hunting per se, but again, a balance of nature is needed & a Fear OF Man. This is lacking today.
