He'll be 6mo next week.
His ears are up but the tips are very flat. Sometimes they even curve back just a little bit. He's a family pet and will not be bred or shown but vanity still counts.
Is there any chance they will take on a curve as the cartilage firms up or if I want them curved am I going to have to tape them?
If taping is recommended what method do you suggest? There are about 10 different ways you can read about but most of them are to get the ears to stand not to fix the tips.
Thanks for any input.

I've had pups that have ears that wanted to curl back and all of them turned out fine. You can put him on cottage cheese or yogurt to help firm them up too. I've heard Knox gelatin before too but not sure how well that works.

YesMi Gsd all the above in his food and get him a cow hoof or some raw round steak bones to chew in his crate.....he needs to strengthened his ligaments with the bones......give him raw meats in his food he needs the extra vitamins and minerals and lots of cottage cheese and yogurt...
his feet , his bones and his teething take the calcium from his ears and he needs to chew.....built strength in jaw line ligaments go upward and he will attention and use those same ligaments...
best to describe....unless he has parents or grandparents with floppy or soft ears......do not tape nor worry....up to 8 mos old they go up they go down on some larger boned, heavy pups......
smaller headed and smaller boned pups go up immediately...Vets love to scare people into the 75.00 0r 100.00 fee they charge to tape ears....
Had a vet tell one of my pup ears oh his ears will never stand ha ha ha....he had a lot of other scare tactics also like this pup sits sideways ,,,see ,,he has bad hips ha hah ofa good I had a few choice words for that vet...Here is his pic ears and all Dr.Pepper
