A friend of mine used a weighted collar on her BRT, and I notice the dog has an gorgeous topline, muscular wither, firm back, strong shoulder, and it got me thinking. Have or would any of you use a weighted collar/vest to build muscle on your dog? What were your results? What is a safe age to introduce it, do you treat it like conditioning and wait until they are done growing?

Why use a weighted Collar, If you work the Dog well within its limits then you will build up its Muscle, but its stamina which counts as well.

I did not use extra weights on myself when i was training many years ago when i did the Sport of Karate but i had plenty of Muscle on me not to show as such as a body builder, but certainly not an oze of Fat on me,

Nor did i have weights on me when i run, A good bit of up hill work does that for you and it will for the Dogs

As in all things steady away,

Steve

I am mostly curious, based on the results of my friend's dog. I have never heard of anyone using it for conditioning in GSDs and wondered if anyone did.
