Two weeks ago , my son, who had his foot half amputated in an industrial accident ,was rushed to the hospital at midnight. The sirens of the ambulance and my sons loud exclamations of pain , we guess,,,made Blaize , his very well trained boy, bolt out the door and ran to back of woods near home...Deputies of Sheriff office came and hunted for a while and other friends looked for two days...On the second day , a gsd was found two streets over and the man who helps my son in his recovery,,,took the gsd and put him in the kennel in my sons home...He called me and says :"It looks like his dog...but not acting right....he bathed him as he was wet and dirty...He fed and cared for him for over a week...When my son came home 9 days later,,he called and said Mom,,Im playing with my new german shepherd....This is not Blaize....Beautiful young 13 month approx..or so.,,aged male...also lost....
Today a Deputy called my son and said We have a german Shepherd in the Pound in Galveston and it came from the Mainland....Did you find your boy? This dog has been here since two days after they took you to the hospital...So my Son had someone take him to check the call out....Amazing and Happy to find It was Blaize....We had all given up...They had made him their mascot and he was taken care of by a deputy that had him in his office..They knew he was a prize possession and his training was evident....Thank God he is home.....He is my sons whole life...His amputated foot has stopped his life cold and Blaize gives him the will to keep on living until he is recovered ,,some day to be back in the work force...and can walk his dog. The lost shepherd is wondering , today, O Boy, Im second in line now ..Where did this other dog come from. My son has to make a decision what to do about the other shepherd. The pound wont take him in as lost. Policy forbids them . WIth no imcome, another dog is out of the question and no one claims him in a mile radius of his home. THey put up signs and an ad will go in local sheet...There are no rescues what we know of in the area.
I guess God knew , he sent one to replace the other and knew Blaize would find his way back ,but another lost boy now has been cared for and we will find him a good home. I am so happy today I bursting with joy and had to share an unhappy incident turned out happy in the end.

vENZOMOM: Blaize is my sons dog...he bolted the night he was taken out to hospital someone brought the other shepherd to his house and kenneled him thinking they had found Blaize...Blaize was missing until today and found ...But now my son has two shepherds not one......Blaize is quite a boy and we had all given up he was gone forever as it has been two weeks... he is his pic with my son on his shoulders...Thanks to Preston,,Bob=O , Domenic and Blue shepherd for their concern and Tammy and Veronica and Preston for their prayers and Doggie2 also....Those prayers were answered today.....Heith is looking for a new home for the other shepherd...now....so pray the right one will be found...The other shepherd was a lost wandering shephered also ,,but no one knew that until they tried to find his home last week....

This is the other pup that is a lost german shepherd who friends of my son thought was Blaize. He looks like what Blaize did when he was younger...this is a young pup...Blaize is four years old....
Hope I did not offend anyone with sharing my story...Never have I ever lost a shepherd....but this was a fluke thing and the deputies and medical people didnt know Blaize and couldnt get him called back....His tags were not on him as tags come off when kenneled inside....and he was out of kennel when they came inside to get my son.....all ended well now..

I hope your son is better, YR. That's a terrible thing to have happen. I'm sure he'll find a good home for the other dog.

Thanks to all...Yes he is happy tonight...He got Blaize bathed as he came home with fleas and of all things he now has kennel cough..... The people at the pound were very helpful...They sent home cephflex and they didnt charge Heith any fees for the stay.....They called the hospital and the Health district and found out he was admitted so they were kind to let him take him home. He has been busy trying to introduce two dogs who are both thinking they are the number one dog in the house...
Blaize is very social to dogs and isnt bothered until the dog got in Heiths lap and he was a little jealous...Gonna be a chore for a day or so ....but they are playing and he had to find another crate this eve to put the puppy to bed in....cant have dogs running amuck.. Someone is missing a very good pup...He said he sitz, platz and shakes hands and rolls over and back....
Blaize does all that too,,, so gonna be a competition and who can outdo the other ...Will keep Heiths mind off his pain...Thanks to all .

I'm sorry for what happened to your son, and glad his dog was returned. I can't imagine having such a devestating injury and losing your dog at the same time. Good luck placing the other GSD.

terrible thing to happen to your son. hope his rehabilitation is as painfree as possible. it's wonderful that he got his dog back! and for a lost german shepherd to be "delivered" to people who actually know what to do with them is a blessing for the dog. prayers to you and yours and the dogs. hopefully the owners will be found. maybe an expanded search? how far did blaize get before he was picked up?
