hi,

I am looking to own a working GSD but don't want to rush into anything, so i am taking my time in doin reseach,

all the information regarding show Vs working, how to raise, how to choose puppy, medical care are quite easy to find, but i can't find the information regarding bloodline in the working GSD

can anyone help me?

what is so good about czech/german, DDR, etc working bloodline? how is their temperament (in general)? what could be expected? what's good and bad about it?

i will really help me alot... thanks everyone in advance,

thanks, (i am a newbie in the area)

Since you say you are newbie I don;t know what exactly you mean. Whether you are new to the dog world or new to the GSd world but experienced in other breeds.

Anyway. I'll just give you a simple advice. You do not need to do a PHd in Dog science before buying a dog unless it is for academia purposes.

Remember the dog is to suit your temprament NOT the other way I;e You don;t hav to adjust your habits and nature according to the dog. That will never happen and in the long run both the dog and the master lose.

So go to any good GSD breeder and tell him to give you a dog According to your lifestyle and temprament. Thats what a breeder's job is.

cheers

Just a suggestion

Make a list of a few questions and answer them as truthfully as you can.

Why do I want a GSD, Why do I want a working line dog, Am I going to train in Schutzhund,Agility, search&rescue, Obedience tracking or just a pet,Do I have the time to commit to a working line dog. After you have answered these questions then Find a reputible breeder and If there worth there salt there going to ask you the same if not more questions so think it thru well before hand. Not just any breeder is worried about the bred to many are just puppy movers. And the more you spend does not always calculate to a better dog.
