I feed my two working dogs both kibble and a raw diet.  To answer your question though either could be better for a dog some do good on a good kibble where others are better off on a raw diet.  Then you have some dogs that are allergic to some grains and not others and so forth, same goes for the meat(though I have not experienced any allergies in any of my dogs).  If you are going to feed mostly raw do your research as to not leave out any important nutrition that your dog needs. Hope this helps.

Mixing raw and dry is the worst thing you can do according to someone I know who has done 10 yrs. of field research on the subject. Raw and dry are metabolized at different rates. If I switch from one to the other, I fast the dog for 24 hrs. between.

Shelly you are right about feeding the meat with the kibble. The way I inderstand it is that when both are fed at the same time the dogs stomach begins to break one down and leave the other on the back burner kinda like lettting it spoil and then digest it.  Hope this makes sense, however I dont think you need to wait an entire 24 hours before feeding the two.  Say if you feed your dog two meals a day one early morning and one at night.  You should be safe feeding one meal raw and the other kibble.  Remember dogs digest their food much faster than we humans do.
