Two Moons

What do you do with a muddy dog on a rainy day?   Mine have to come in the house, at least two of them do.  My older dog will stay where I put her until my back is turned then she goes to her spot.  But the pup goes everywhere including jumping on my bed.  I just found little brown paw prints on my bed spred.  He goes in the crate well but that gets old.   I hate rainy days and mud.

How do you handle a dirty dog in the house?    I've run out of towels drying them off!!

Just wondered,  I'm as bored as they are today, rainy day blues.

close your bedroom doors and place towels next to entry so you can catch them as they come in. we have very little carpet in our house anymore, so it's easier to clean. but, as soon as i mop, angus comes in big, wet and muddy. claire can stay clean no matter what (i don't know how she does it), but angus could get dirty in any weather. they have a doggie door in our downstairs bathroom, so thats not so bad - tiles floors and towels are handy. i also bought super absorbant towels just for angus - it helps a bit. we're expecting a little rain in the next day or so, and i expect angus will get my bathroom and entry nice and muddy. o well. i actually love rainy days, but i'm in socal and we don't always get enough of them.

SoCal sounds nice right now....:)

Our mud is measured in months on days.   I'm considering closing in my deck for a holding area, at least I could hose it down...lol

In the old days I would go to a club and kill an afternoon watching ladies try to climb a pole..lol    Aye!  They never quite made it to the top.    Sadly those days are gone..   Now I knit and do needle point ...:)

i think i'll pick up a nice single malt scotch for my husband (and me) and a couple good bones for the dogs so we'll be all contented for a day or two. i may duct tape my teenage son to his bedroom door so i can keep an eye on him and this weekend may just be all right! good luck with your dirty "muddies" and your needlepoint (????)

Thank you for posting this question!

I reside in Michigan and I let my dogs out and they have a field day in the mud!

I will have towles handy!

Thanks

If its not too bad, I have him come in, sit by the door and wipe them off with a towel.

If its a little muddier I keep a bucket of warm water, have him put his paws in the bucket, one at a time, and then wipe them off.

If its a REAL muddy day, I take the hose to his belly & legs and then dry him off.

If it gets any worse than that, I'm moving to the Southwest where there isn't much rain! ha ha ha

I use a wet wash cloth and a towel, it works pretty good. I can just see me having a bucket of water Xato could knock over a bucket if t was the only thing in a square mile. I have to say this mud is getting old fast. Its not cold enough to stay froze all winter and just warm enough to be nasty.
