I have never seen a more up-front and honest advertisement.  Good for you wscott.  http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/classifieds/54548.html

That is neither upfront nor particularly honest, that is simply a silly bias displayed in that ad. A dogs pedigree is of no lesser quality just because it mixes lines. Be it czech lines with show lines or whatever. Breeding is not that easy anyways, you never know what you have til after the fact. But when you have czech lines you always have a certain show line background. When the iron curtain was still up everything Western was highly coveted, and with the GSDs the sought after dogs were show line dogs. Same as it was at DDR times.

The pup sounds very nice. The pup does not know its own pedigree anyways. I wonder... if it should excell in the sport and make it to an important podium if people, especially the owner, still thought the pedigree was crappy? Especially if it produced nice pups itself. More likely not. Silly bias.

not so much bias as honest.  the dads pedigree is very nice working pedigree. while the mothers goesback to german show dogs w/ dogs by the name of queen of tera, zues nippy stafford and a bunch of other names that dont look that impressive. couple that w/ the lack of titles it adds up to crap.

So i have to sit back and think... some folks like working lines some folks like show lines.  very few folks go out looking for a combination of the two.  so if you your looking for a dog that has an awesome pedigree, this dog is not for you.

he is a very nice pup and will be able to work PERIOD.  but since i dont know anything about the pedigree and there is no consistancy in the pedigree i can not, nor will i say the dog is top notch and capable of competitng at a national level.  and by competing i mean place in the top 10. i dont consider scoreing a 270 and going to a national event and scoreing 240 being competitive.

the pup is nice, but the pedigree is ABSOLUTE SH*T.  if he was 18 months and workng very well, there would be no need to mention the pedigree, but since he is only 4 months i think the spirit of full disclosure dictates i tell folks the pedigree is crap and not tell them that the pup has the best of both worlds....

I have considered & reconsidered what I should say about my puppies and their pedigrees should I have to advertise them....I have decided that saying, "These two dogs combine some of the best of German Shepherd dog bloodlines" is accurate, and reflects my pride in my dogs without implying that they have any special talents, and as the parents are not titled (yet); does not state 'terrific' or 'extra-ordinary'; and then I would simply describe the dogs personalities. What do you guys think? jackie harris

It sure reads like an honest ad to me. I'd much prefer buying a dog from someone who advertises their dogs this way than one who promises everything, can't even provide registration papers and then disappears once the check has cleared the bank.

I don't know Wscott00, but somehow I don't think he or she would be that sort of breeder.

Jackie, IMO that sounds just right.

wscott00, I really like your add. It's quite refreshing compaired to all of the others, that tout world class or a pup that can title in any venue. Every puppy is a crap shoot no matter his pedigree but nothing wrong with airing on the side of caution or being humble. I rather like your honesty and I did the same thing when I had pups. I try talking people out of them, so only the ones that see a real gem will walk away with them. I never got a returned pup.

i think its reall that bad.  on the mothers pedigree here the great grandparents jello vd wienerau x ondra vd burg reichenstein  and xamb  v baronwald x vom hide-n-go-seek

the top has argus v meadow hausx etna zlode slnecnic and max amillionbucks v hay ho x new years day terra v hay-ho.

from those dogs to the pup are no titles that i can find.  so my research has foung german show dogs and i thinkg the hayho kennel where german show dogs back in the early 90's.

he's a great pup but the pedigree leaves a lot to be desireed if that is what you want. and w/ a pup its a good place to start.
