Hello everyone, I am looking for a GSD for a family pet (no Schutzhund training needed) who has good innate protective instincts for me and my family. I was about to purchase a puppy from Kraftwerk K-9 but then am having second thoughts since I've been coming across some negative opinions of people about Wayne Curry's busness ethics. I love his site, he looks like he knows what he's talking about, a lot of (seemingly) satisfied people, but also some dissatisfied (of course every business will have unsatisfied customers). But before spending $3500 on a puppy (with training), I would like to know that I am getting a well socialized and healthy GSD, plus great with kids. Any opinion, experiences, advice, or suggestions for any other reputable AND ethical breeders (who has a puppy training program like Kraftwerk's) will be kindly appreciated. My family and I thank everyone for any help or info.

I would be very cautious, Ined, about taking the advice of someone who makes slanderous and accusastory posts about people and dogs they know absolutely nothing about.

Amy Schroedl of Vom NeoHaus Kennels in Chicago, IL I had a VERY good experience with her, and she is VERY honest. I got exactly what I wanted! And she continues excellent breeder support, education, advice, etc.... There is also Neuen Welt Kennels in Chicago as well, he is a veterinarian and has been doing this a loooong time! I know he will be having some litters coming up soon too! Both breeders pups are priced VERY reasonable...even the show/sport prospects. $3500 is waaay overpriced!!!

There are Small reputable GSD Breeders out here who offer puppie training Classes, who have excellent reputation and ethics for this Breed. Who care for their dogs and breed for health and standard. Who also have excellent Pedigreed and titled dogs. Who will assist you anywhere they can befor and after the pup was purchased. You get a much more stabilized sozialized and healthy pup with out the stress and pressure, you have a better overlook on the pups because most of the time they have only one or two litters to look at.
You get a Pup as good as from the above named or even better sometimes for less $$$

I wonder....
Ined where are you from? Seems you just joined yesterday,

Pardon me but I smell a troll.

save your money 3500 $ for a family pet WOW. No one ever needs to pay that kind of money for a puppy,i repeat no one.does not matter what lines the puppy is coming from and there is not a whole lot of trainig you can put in to a puppy to ever justify that kind of price tag.so please ask around and look around find some breeders in your area and go look at the puppies and pick a good one.good luck.

I do not advertise on the PDB as I feel just having my info about my web-site is enough,
I have decided that due to the economy, with a gallon of milk being about $4.00 in
some places, and gas prices, well you know.....
I have lowered my prices 30% of what I usually ask and seems to be the going rate around
this area, also there are many dogs in shelters cause of the recent forclosers.
If someone says they can get a pup at a shelter for less, I definitely encourage that they should.
I can just offer a puppy with an accurate history, no surprises.
I still honor a 3 year guarantee against crippling genetic defects, and offer a full cash refund
refund within the first 3 weeks, if you decide this isn't the pup for you, any reason whatsoever, no ?'s.
I also do not ship, but have so many pups out there that people are calling cause they saw one of my pups,
and asked the people where did you get your pup, or repeat customers.
Ined, if you want a pup you can be happy with, next time you see someone with a dog or pup that just
turns your head, go ask them who they got their pup or dog from, also, attend some dog events that
have GSD's in them.
Same thing goes for finding a reputable vet. ask someone with a healthy good looking dog, who their
vet. is, it's much better to get info from someone in person than a complete stranger from the internet.
Good Luck with your search!

Absolute truth!!! The best way for POTENTIAL new owners to decide is to talk with and if possible go out and meet the breeder and dogs yourself . Go with the gut, make an adult concious choice of what pup and/or contractthat you will be happy with and approve of for your family.
