Here is a copy of an email I sent the SV:
Hi Sabine;
I do have question if you'd be so kind as to get give me an answer.
Question: Is the SV insisting / requiring the GSDCA-WDA to collect & send you the SV, the scorebooks when a breed survey is done?
I don't have to do that in Canada or with the USA SchH Club. Thank you for taking your time to answer the above question.
Warm Regards,
Mary
Here is a copy of the reply from Sabine at the SV office;
Dear Mary,
In reference to your inquiry I would like to inform you that we don't request the original score book for the registration of trials; if the breed survey documents are submitted through a WUSV club we can also accept copies of the scorebooks.
I hope I have been able to help you with this information; should you need further assistance please, do not hesitate to contact me.
Best regards
Sabine
So for those of you who have been lead to believe that the SV wanted the original score book when doing a breed survey with the WDA you now know this was ONLY a Martylou Plinski idea.
We've had the original paperwork & score book held up since Sept 2007, the dog received her SchH1 Breed Survey, & V show rating. To date the paper work has not been returned, Its was returned to Martylou Plinski on Feb 14th by registered airmail from the SV, yet we haven't seen it.....
Without the scorebook a person cannot continue to trial...

If you call and say I'd like my damn scorebook so I can trial my dog, they'll copy it and send it back, that's what I did (with USA). I was really more polite, but that's how I felt, as I was angry they had it so long too.
Regards,
Melanie

USA also does have the provision for trial entrants to post a bond for the scorebook, when the scorebook is not at the trial.

I didn't submit our scorebooks through WDA, "just" the registration papers. The SV papers for one, and the AKC with certified 4-generation for the other. Here is a link to the requirements. BTW, it's a different person you submit them to now. We went through this just a few months ago using this contact and it went very smoothly.

So I didn't have to give up everything I won on my dog for the koer??? And just an FYI for people...WDA is the reason things take so long...not the SV!!! I am still waiting for my paperwork and it left Germany a month ago!!!!! Remins me...I have to contact MartyLou!!

Fortunately, Martylou is no longer handling WDA breed surveys. Now, it's Joy Schultz--why, I cannot fathom.
When one of my dogs got his BS for life at a WDA club in 2003, all of his paperwork was delayed in the bowels of the SV in Ausburg forever (or so it seemed). In order to get this nonsense expedited, Angelika Clark (who spoke German) of the USA Office had to intervene on my behalf and contact the SV to determine the reason for the delay.
You will not believe why there was a snag: my dog happened to have been co-owned with a friend who had let her SV membership lapse (never mind that I have never been an SV member--and never mind that my friend was no longer active in the sport). I ask you why the hell someone in the WDA was not considerate enough to track down this information.
