I have looked at several dogs pedigrees and the breeders have stated that the sire/dam or behind them have received working titles (SCH) since being entered into the pedigree database. Of course updated OFA ratings are easy to verify through OFA's website but how can I be sure what they are telling me is on the level? Anywhere I can go to access this information without knowing the dog's owners to contact them for info and further documentation?

If in the US, check the trial results for USA, WDA, and DVG. The results of trials are published. WDA also publishes the more current results on the website. Or, contact the offices to verify titles.

Your best bet is to ask for a copy of the pink papers or scorebook so that you can see it for yourself w/the scores. Additionally, even if know the dog has a recognized working title (either confirmed by WDA/USA/SV like Mystere suggested or you have seen it in the scorebook), I would want to SEE with my own eyes that the dog can do at least the protection work and some obedience. See if you can get a hold of a video or meet the dogs in person. That's the best way! There's a lot of cheats in the world....
Also remember that anyone can update PedigreeDatabase and add titles. Just because a dog is listed on here with a SchH title does not neccessarily mean its real.
