My experience dealing with Activedog, com is being posted so that those of you who consider doing business with them do not get screwed as I did.

I ordered an A-wall for Schutzhund. Price-$999.00. This was done VIA credit card. Shipping was to be $129.00. I recieved a box that contained an agility wall. I knew something was wrong when I took it out of the box. Besides, "IT WAS USED". I called them to inquire about what they sent me. They denied that it was used. Later on, they got back to me and apologized that the wall was used as a demo. They told me that I ordered a blue & yellow agility wall. How so, when I train Schutzhund. The agility wall is $1,199.00. They did ship out the correct wall and I did recieve the correct wall. BUT, they said that there would be no adjustment to the price as I would have to pick up the shipping on the order. I would have bought additional equipment from these people had they been reasonable. They had no intention of speaking with me further once they shipped the correct wall. To me, that is not the way to do business. This customer was right but, with Activedog, com, the customer is not right. The bottom line is the dollar. They did not want to eat the shipping for the wrong order so they pushed it onto me. With that, I bring this to this board for your review and consideration. It's just "stupid business tact" when you treat your customers like they did to me. I'm out $200.00 and not a happy customer. I gave them the opportunity to make the situation right. They declined. I hope you all learn something from my experience and do not do business with this company.

That's why I will always build my own.  The amount you paid for shipping on the original shipment can build  two A-frames.  With the total amount you paid, I could build 12 very nice A-frames.

I didn't have much luck with them either Jim.  I bought a sleeve cover that ripped the first time that a young (8 month old) dog bit on it.  I tried to exchange it for a more expensive cover (I was going to pay the difference) but they wanted me to also pay the shipping back on the ripped sleeve plus the shipping on the new sleeve.  I just chalked it up to bad business and went with another company.

I don't like bad-mouthing anyone unless it is justified. Thank you for sharing your experience MI GSD. I would never spend that kind of money for an A-wall but I am disabled and cannot carry or lift our traditional wood walls. That's why I went for the big bucks on an aluminum A-wall. How do they ship a used wall and not realize it? Come on! A company that has that kind of consumer unfriendly policy cannot last long in the small dog world that we live in. Just stupid. Had they looked to resolve the matter, I would have ordered a starter pistol and dumbell rack and maybe more in the future.

My experience with ActiveDog was not positive either and I will not do business with them again. The main problem is that they sell inferior equipment. We bought a lot of equipment, including tugs and dumbells and balls on a rope. The balls were of crap rubber that did not last one week. The dumb bell set arrived and two of the three were cracked through even though new.The tugs are not of good material and do not last long either.

When I called to ask for replacement dumbells I got the run around. They were trying to bring in/make  inferior equipment and sell it at top prices.

I can heartily recommend another company called

https://www.allk-9.com/

I just made a large order, got excellent quality equipment in a timely fashion. They have excellent business skills as well and I will continue to do business with them.

From the ActiveDogs.com site:

Some of the products that activedogs.com currently manufactures are:

Aluminum Schutzhund Scaling Wall, Schutzhund Hurdle Jump, Aluminum Crates, Aluminum Crate Trolley, Aluminum Dumbbell Rack, 7 & 8 ft Protection Blinds, Ball Tree, Handler Clothing, Puncture Resistant Scratch Pants and Trail Jacket, Leather Scratch Pants, Leather Scratch Trail Jacket, Leather Collars, Leather Muzzles, Leather Leads, Leather Harnesses, Bite Tugs, Bite Sleeves, Hidden Sleeves, Bite Suits, Tactical Bite Suits, Gun Dog Gear, Training Bags and Training Gear, Service Dog Vests, Service Dog Capes, Service Dog Harnesses, Therapy Dog Vests, Therapy Dog Harnesses, Service Dog Signs, Search & Rescue Vests and Harnesses, Search & Rescue Gear, Dog Boots, Bringsel, Balls, Narcotic Bags, Weight Pulling and Muscle building Equipment, Hoodie Dog Motif Embroidery and Embroidery Patches, Shearling Dog Beds, Sherpa Dog Beds, Agility Equipment, Agility A Frames, Agility Hurdle

Wow.  That's only "some" of the products?

Who are they?  Who is the parent company?  Where are all these variety of products (extruded aluminum, leather wear, canine and human wear, embroidery, harnesses, etc.) manufactured and by whom?  Better yet, who endorses them or uses them to the point that they would be able to sustain the costs of manufacturing all those products?

If they're all this then they should have (at least) a decent homepage and be on "the big board" selling stock like General Mills and all their subsidiaries, among others .

Smacks of a basement/back yard operation just from the description above.

Very scary.  Another I'll add to my "do not buy from" list.

I actually considered getting a welder to fabricate an aluminum wall. But, why reinvent the wheel? Activedog.com was the only manufacturer of aluminum walls that I could find. The dog sport is an expensive sport. I thought that the price was a little steep............but I am a believer in; "you get what you pay for."

When you are handicapped, you cannot negotiate your physical limitations. If you need the wheelchair,  you don't construct a wooden overweight monstrosity to supplement and hurt yourself pushing your limitations. No doubt, an aluminum wall is a specialty, but you do what you need to if you are a competitor.
