Hi guys,
just letting evrybody know, I had 7 puppies, the first 2 that got sick, by the time I got this info on the tamiflu, they were already too sick to get the meds, unfortunately I lost this 2, the other 5 I started the Tamiflu(4mg/kg) right when they started showing the signs of Parvo, all of them made it, they are very well now, playing, biting just like before....
Although my vet was not convinced, because he said the med is not for that kind of virus, I'm convinced the meds helped them get over it, and quick too, they were out before the other 2 that ended up dying.
I DO recommend the meds by the experience I got, besides, that's not much u can do anyway, so why not give it a try??!!!
Thanks again for your help,
Mario Gomes(Brazil)

Thanks for the information, Mario. I was wondering how it went for you. Most I know who have used the Tamiflu have had the same experiences you did - if they get it early on there is a 100% cure rate. As you said, what's to lose? Here in the US this drug was almost impossible to find a year ago, it was being hoarded thinking there was going to be a problem when bird flu mutated to a human virus. It never happened, so I hope it is more readily available now. If I were a breeder, I'd make sure I had this drug on hand if I had a litter planned and I might try to find some if I were bringing a new puppy into the home. Better to err on the side of caution where pups and parvo are concerned.
