Sometimes a dog just catches your eye. I saw this dog advertised as the father of a litter here on the PDB, and immediately thought, "Wow, that looks like Bodo vom Lierburg, come back to life!"  Except his head is even better than Bodo's, who had a muzzle that was a bit collie-like.  Very impressive record, too. And if you read the comments under his entry, it says he's very calm and good-natured when not working.

If I was in the market for a working line pup, I'd certainly give this litter a look. This dog sounds like the total package!  (Okay, it doesn't hurt that I like the style of dog that was around during the '60's, before the showline/working line split...)

Anyone here seen him work? Is he as good as they say he is?

These people aren't too far from me, if they still own this dog. I was considering a pup from him last year, but the gender I wanted wasn't available when it was my turn to pick. I love the working lines and to me, he is everything they should be. Their site is www.auflagekraft.com. (Not certain I spelled that right!) At the time, they only had three dogs, including this boy. The female was an outstanding dog also...not many females with a record like hers. I'm going to check with them.....hopefully they still have puppies available!

Sunsilver,

Fancy that! We agree on a nice dog! Seriously, I have known this dog for a few years now and can honestly tell you that he is a very nice dog, both in structure and in work. He lives in a house with two small children.

As a matter of fact, my V-rated black working female will be bred to Alex on Saturday. Pedro, Alex' owner will keep her for a few days for me. I admire the breeder of Raccoon's in Germany and like her (repeat) litters out of Troll a lot. She is truly a knowledgable person! I also almost bred to Daucus or Flax, but decided on a different dog last year and kept them on a back burner.  But... As we say in Germany, postponed is not cancelled! Since I can't fly to Germany right now, I consider myself very lucky that Alex lives just an hour from me. This litter will be linebred on Fero (4-4) and Verwin (5-5).

BTW, I also think that Alex resembles his halfbrother Daucus a lot: www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/385839.html

Rockinrkranch, Pedro mentioned yesterday that there are three litters out of Alex on the ground. So, you might want to contact him for a referral.

Chris

P.S. Get A Real Dog, what did you mean with your post? Do you see a problem with Troll? According to my research on the German workingline board, he produced pretty well, especially with Fero-blood.
