Hi there, this is my first post and hope someone out ther can help me.
I've bought a dog from Belgium and I'm trying to do a little research on his pedigree and find some photo's of his ancestors. The dogs I'm most interested in are:
Qay van het Berghuis
Skinn vom Kollaerds Wald
Gundo vom haus Santo
If anyone can help with photo's and any info on these dogs, I'd be really grateful.
Thanks in advance

Not to be sarcastic, but some serious advice to heed is, next time do your research of the dog BEFORE you buy him. It is the path of least resistance, trust me.

Berghuis is quite a well known Belgium Kennel and they have produced Belgium and WUSV competitors including Troll van het Berghuis. If you would like email me his pedigree and I will help you out. The ignorance on working lines by show people sometimes astounds me, funny how most working people know who the show flavour of the month is!

Please visit and/or e-mail the people at:
www.vomhaussanto.be for any info on their dog.
They are one of the best kennels for showdogs in Belgium.
Good luck!

Hello,
I'm trying to register my GSD, but after completing all of the steps, I'm told that neither parent can be found. However, my dog's sire's name is listed when I try to register. The sire's name is:
Vaskus Vom Kirschental
DL72897101 (09/98) OFA45G Blk & TN (GER) AKC
DNA# V76252
Can I register my dog as long as one parent is in the database? The dam is NOT in the database. However, I've tried registering her as well, but I get the same response "Neither parent can be found". Please help...
Thanks...

CHEEDOUGH - Who is the mutter ? And can I ask you where Vaskus is? He is a half-brother to the mother of my male.

Qay was a Mike vom Weiss-Sandgruben son from a breeding to Nettie van het Berghuis.
I am very familiar with Mike but do not know much about Qay.

keep searching backwards in the dam's pedigree until you find a dog that is in, then start adding from there
I had to go back like 6 generations on my Belgian female, but I found enough dogs to build out the pedigree. It is tedious, but you can do it.

In addition to the info from "vom Haus Santo", I can now give you the following info on "van het Berghuis Kennel":

No website! Not everybody is a computer freak.
Good luck.

Thaks to you all who have replied to my original post, you've all been very helpful and restored my faith in dog owners - when we're not arguing we can be quite friendly to each other!
To everyone who offered help - beware I'm WILL take you up on your offer.
To SGBH - your advice is sound and I agree that EVERYONE should chechk out their new additions BEFRORE purchase. With that in mind I'm happy to tell you that my very good friend Rinus Bastiaansen (breeder of Link vom Muikenshof and now breeds under von der Dalaenberghutte and van het Berghuis) found the dog for me and I know that he has a BSP winner, a WUSV winner and several Holland/Belgium Interland winners in he pedigree! Sound advice though - thanks. (I'm not being sarcastic either!)
Thanks again to you all!
