Hallo, I am a new member, I have entered my dogs parents however I need to go back five generations with all the info I have. Do I need to click on my dogs parents names and add their parents and so on? I though I had done very well and entered all last night but all I have is my dogs parents this morning. Where have I gone wrong please? I noticed thread about history not known and I do not wish to upset anyone. Thank you

Good morning,

you could try going to quick reg female/male, or register a dog. If you register a dog, and the dog has registration #, it will either default to that dog or tell you the dog is already registered. You can also try inputing Register a dog. If you would like to edit the existing dog you entered , click on GSD pedigree search for that dog, and above the dogs name you will have several options," update ped. history ".  It can be frustrating because if the owner of the original dogs never put in the information, you have to take the time, or just keep updating.
I hope this was some help without being to confusing, if I understood your question.
God Bless

Kim

If the dogs are not already in the database, yes, you must enter each one individually. Go to your dog's parent's pages, enter THEIR parents (in a seperate window) then once you are done with them, click 'refresh' on the original page. The new entries should now show up as being your dog's grandparents.

It's a long, tedious process, but well worth it. Eventually you will come to dogs that ARE in the database, and they will link automatically to the ones you are entering, completing the pedigree.

Just remember to hit 'refresh' every time you are finished an entry!

Sallywhite...

Hi there.  I would be happy to help you out in anyway I can... It took me a few days and about 8 hours of entering dogs to get the full pediree on my female to show up.  Like sunsilver said it's a long process but well worth it in the end.

Again if you need help jjust ask.

Have a great one
