More poop with Canidae than some foods, seriously smelly, but not so soft with the chicken recipe as with regualr ALS. Jury is out on coat/skin condition as yet. Dogs shedding now so we'll see... Love the price,  all natural, little grain, and the dogs like it. I just wish I didn't have to drive 20 miles each way to get the stuff. Carol (7 yrs., tends to get FAT) is on Platinum/Senior/Weight Control. Doing fine after > 6 mos.

I used to feed Canidae.  The results were great until one day my dog started to vomit up his food.  He was about halfway through the bag when this happened.  I tossed the bag and bought another one.  He refused to eat it.  I switched to Chicken Soup for the Dog Lovers Soul.  It is the best food I have ever fed.  The coat is great, stool is firm and very little smell.

I dont think there is anything wrong with Canidae...I was having some remodeling going on at my house and I think some saw dust got into the food and that is why he got sick.  Probably turned him off the food for a while that is why I switched.  But the Chicken Soup is going strong for almost 2 years now and there is no switching back now.

Shawn,

That's funny!  I had the opposite.  I just switched from Chicken Soup to Canidae.  I seem to think it is now firmer and less gas attacks in the house.  I don't know about coat though.  I did love Chicken Soup and Wolf King for coat.

I can't believe you guys sucked me into a serious conversation about dogfood.

Just picked up my 4 bags of Canidae, 40 lbs each, it cost me $ 130.00

I asked the lady at the boarding kennel what she thought of Chicken Soup, and she
said she used to feed her dogs that, but that Chicken Soup has had 2 recalls
and she said it's made by diamond foods, so she switched to Canidae, and
she told me after cleaning up after 40 dogs, she doesn't notice any more poop
than regular,

all I can say to that is WOW....

I ain't complaining about poop pick-up anymore..............

Diamond manufacurres Chicken Soup - correct.  Recalls on Chicken Soup - incorrect.

Diamond also manufactures Solid Gold, along with the new Taste of the Wild and other "premium" lines.  For what it is worth, Canidae doesn't manufacture their own food, but outsources it to a private plant in Texas.

Knowledge is powerful, misinformed knowledge is dangerous.
