Anyone using them in training? I know ray allen sells them and a number of others out there. I was just wondering how people are liking them?

I have one of their 10M Long Lines, I love it. It gas been left out in the rain & snow, used as a tie out . and many more things it was not meat to be used as. I have had this one for 2 years now and it still looks like it did when I got it. We have sand spurs around here and they can chew up leather pretty fast. This line seems immune.  The first 4 months I had it we really abused the hell out of it trying to see if it was good at the MFG said. I was impressed enough to get another one.

I deal with leather with our draft animals enough on our farm so I love the fact I can really abuse this line and not have to worry about treating it with oils and so on...

I have a thirty foot lead that is great. It often gets drug through cactis as my dog is tracking and weaving between them whilst dragging me behind him . Nothing gets imbedded in the lead and ends up in my hand when I gather it back up. Not even cholla www.delange.org/JumpingCactus/JumpingCactus.htm which will poke right up through a vibram sole at times.

Another plus is that it won't knot up even if it's tangled. Very smooth and non chaffing to hands too.

I got mine at fullgripgear.com. Bill Forbes will make absolutely anything you want to order and get it out to quickly at a reasonable price. I've had several people on the team ask for his card so they can look into them as well.

Now see, I feel just the opposite.  I bought one of the 33ft ones and I hated it.  I don't like the slight rubbery feel and it is downright slimey and slippery when wet.  So I went back to leather.   I do have to pay attention and take care of them, but it's worth it to me.

sueincc,

Mine felt some what slimy when I first got it and it got wet, I put a call to customer servise and they told me to wash it with dawn soap and it took the goop right off.

Haha! The last thing I have to worry about here is it getting wet, Sue!  In order for mine to get wet I'd have to put it in the sink!

Hi, I just recieved one today. everyone I talked to about this new lead loves it. When Sueincc posted she hated her's because it gets slimey has me worried. Thanks Wolf359 i'll go buy some Dawn tomorrow. Max is such a hard puller at times and if my lead is slimy i'm not sure i could hold him or the lead. I see a lot of good reasons to own one.

Thanks for the hint, but I've replaced mine already.  I guess you could say I'm into leather!!!!!

I got mine from Elite K9 - after using a friends old biothane rein for awhile

I live them - they can be a  bit heavy for tracking - I would opt for thinner one for that and gloves.

for these in wet conditions better to have gloves - it sure likes like a snake is after you though.  I have a short one too.

The one I got was not biothane but I can't remember the name of it.  It's like the next generation of biothane but is lighter. Mine is very light and is actually pretty thin but strong enough for my brute to drag me face first through the cactus patches! I just check on the website for the name and he doesn't have it listed in his online catalog.  He had said he wanted to update, but I guess he hasn't gotten to it.

Louise Penery is a frequent drop in to his shop. I'll bet she would know the name of it. If not you could email the website.
