Kalibeck

Just a quick note of thanks to all who sang the praises of the Furminator a while back. I finally got one, and WOW! is that thing wonderful! It's incredible how much fur it removes! My floors don't have nearly as much hair on them as they used to. And the dogs seemed to enjoy it. Beckett screeched once, when I was doing his 'butt-fuzzies', and on inspection, he looked a little red there, so I know now to go a bit more gently down his backside, but otherwise, no problem! Thanks again! jh

Yet another Furminator satisfied customer. lol  I just turned my trainer on to this little tool and he was pretty impressed.  When I was telling him about it he said " I have more brushes and grooming equipment than I can count, they're all the same."  I told him no no no, they are NOT all the same this thing is amazing.  So he bought one ($20 less than I did at Petco) lol  and he said he had to try it just to see if I was BS'ng him.  It was definately worth the money.  Now all you need is a Dyson vac and you are good to go.

I just can't see spending that kind of money for a grooming tool. My birthday is this month. Anyone wanting to shell out that much for a present for me shall be thanked many times over. I can hardly see my floors for the shed hair of late. My 6.5 hp Shop Vac resides in the kitchen these days, needing the canister emptied, but husband conveniently forgets, myself not willing to to to make it to the dumpster in the ice. Still sucks, spits out dust, and I still can't keep up with the hair and mud. :(((

I don't like them. I have far better success with a double row'd undercoat rake and a comb held at the proper angle. And just plain plucking the tufts out.

Sorry...but I guess I missed something...but what is the "Furminator"...And where can you see them or get them from?...

I love mine too!

Qman, a Furminator is a grooming tool that strips out all the loose coat.  You need to be careful when you use it but it does the job. If you google Furminator I think you can find plenty of online sources to buy one if you're interested. As Shelly said, they are not cheap, but worth every penny to me.

Ok...I just saw it on the web-site...but how does this work...I mean I've used the undercoat rake for years...and it does a great job...If you're willing to rake out your dogs...I think I need to invent something that I can send my dogs through and it will automatically rake out my dogs...

There is a video of someone grooming a golden with the furminator on the website; I showed that to Carl, and he said....."Ri-i-i-ght!" But when we groomed Beckett, the fur came off just like the video, and he was impressed. It's not often that something works exactly as represented, that's almost as impressive as the tool itself jh

All the furminator is, is a stripping tool used to strip terriers hair. Unlike the ads claiming , the furminator does damage(split) the top coat. The edge of the furminator is made of a # 40 surigcal clipper blade. I used to be a dog groomer and would never use it on my GSD's.

Bob-  I used to use the Oster rake and I USED to think that was the best thing since sliced bread until I had my dogs groomed a few weeks ago and they looked fantastic.  I asked them how they got my dogs looking so good with just a bathe and brushing and that's when she showed me the Furminator.  I bought one on the spot.  You just have to watch not to overbrush; if that's even possible. lol  The other undercoat rakes work well also but I just found the Furminator is more effortless and saves a lot of time.
