Namastey,

Can anybody explain what is a dip on the topline of a dog.  what is the cause and how to treat it if at all it can be treated and how to judge whether the dog is a dipped.  what are his/her show prospects?

regards,

smartboy

Do you mean a nick behind the withers?

by Speaknow on 12 February 2008 - 07:02

Either that or a 'nick'in croup region - just above tail, Zacsmum. No such thing as 'fixing' here, smartboy, if even worth worrying about.

Smartboy, do you have a pic of the topline, so we can work out what it is you are asking about? Lots of dogs have a slight nick or dip behind the withers, and its nothing worth worrying about.

sorry zacsmum, i don't have a pic of the topline.  it is not just very close to the withers but almost at the middle of the topline and when the dog walks, it appears his whole body is swinging from left to right to left.  the age of the dog is exactly one year i.e. its his first birthday today.
