YR,

a6 is given to dogs that have been x-rayed outside of Germany.  It means simply pass (a1,a2 or a3)

Jan, the dog resides in a country that does not recognize the S.V.'s "a" stamp programme. One (1) country that comes to mind is Italy, but surely there are others.

The "a" 6 is a passing score, but one will never know whether the dog is "a" 1, "a" 2, or "a" 3. That being the case, the thing of most value will be the ZW associated with that dog.

Bob-O

HOW DO YOU KNOW WHAT ITS REAL RATING IS THEN......    WHERE DID THAT COME FROM...?    IN OTHER WORDS, YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHETHER THOSE TWO DOGS ARE GOOD HIPS OR ON THE BORDER LINE STATUS?   WHY WOULD THEY HAVE SUCH A THING AS            AUSLAND A6    POSTED ON A PEDIGREE THAT YOU ARE SUPPOSE TO PUT A PROPER RATING ON........IF I POSTED ON ONE OF MY MALES , HERE IN USA   ,,,PRELIMM   CALL ME IF YOU WANT TO KNOW THE REAL RATING.....THINK THAT WOULD FLY......

i DONT GET IT AT ALL......HOW ARE YOU SUPPOSE TO KNOW,....IS THERE A REGISTRY FOR HIPS , IN THOSE COUNTRIES TO PULL THE DOGS NAME AND SEE ITS RATING...?????

I have an American bred dog whose hips were OFAed here and who was registered with the SV for his Körung completed under a German SV judge ( his titles were also all completed under a German SV Judge) . He has OFA good hips. The paperwork now says a6, meaning his hips were done in a country other than Germany. It has no further meaning and if one needs or wants additional information such as the exact rating, then they must find out where the dog was x-rayed and search that registry. It is no mystery, nor is it anyone trying to pull the wool over anyones eyes. A dog who has acceptable hip rating in another country other than Germany, who is registered with the SV, for whatever reason, will have an "a6" rating regardless of whether it was equivalent to "a1, a2 or a3".

Ok , that answers the question more thoroughly...Thanks  ....I   guess I never saw or noticed a   "a6" on any pedigree, but was looking at ads and saw that on both dogs  and others seemed to have    their ratings posted in views that I am familiar with.....I have discovered learning hips is very deep subject...

Thanks  BOB-O   hope your not snowed in? or you either Hodie.... saw Colorado is deep with white powder and a road caved in somewhere......up your way ,,,,,

No snow here-just some killer tornadoes two (2) days ago with nearly fourty (40) people dead a county east of me and about two-hundred (200) not accounted for. We were lucky, no doubt. I just saw some tin ripped from a couple of barns near me.

A warm and breezy winter day here usually brings these very devastating tornadoes, even though it is a long time until official tornado season.

Bob-O

We . too, had the same winds up to 60 mph and a small toronado went thru my town and hit down in Arp and Troup, and we had hail the size of pinto beans and covered the ground causing also lots of dings in automobiles and lots of people got stung....

Not the near devistation up North that all of you people encountered...Warm days , windy and then the cold snap ....caused a lot of blown down lines, roofs and two schools lost their roofs and have of their class rooms .Kids got to miss school ,but now they turned a church into a school for the time being....We were all lucky also.....tHE SKY WAS SO BLACK HERE FOR ABOUT 20 MINUTES IT WAS LIKE THE      KING IS COMING SONG......KINDA MADE ME WONDER...
