I know that OFA results aren't considered conclusive until 2 years of age, and the German 'a' stamp can be obtained at 1 year. What is the age requirement for the Penn hip evaluation?

As soon as you get them done. I think minimum age is 4 months. But I would wait until a little older. My last dog I did OFA prelims and PennHip at 9 months.

I have a question about Penn Hip.

What are good hip score numbers for German Shepherd? What does a certificate look like? I was looking at a dog that has been Penn Hipped but nothing on the paperwork explains anything to me.

Go to the website. The report gives a distraction index. The report is for each hip. My dog has a .33 DI on left hip and .34 on the right. That is rounded down to .30. That is very good for a GSD. Stats are different for each breed.
