Hi
I sold a dog on limited registration to a working home with the promise to convert to full after the dog has passed OFA & titles. What I need to know is, the dog is in my name on the limited, do I sign the back on the limited reg. over to the new owner and still can change down the road to full registration or should I just leave it as is and wait until they completed the requirements?
Thanks

if it were me, i would wait. way too many things can happen between then and now.

Wait until the requirements have been fulfilled as your contract stated.

Thanks every one!

I have no intentions of changing to full yet. I just wanted to know since the limited papers are in my name if I should sign them over to the new owner before sending them out. Or just send them unsigned. I just don't want them to have problems later on when all requirements are full filled. ..........JAQ

Oh, sorry. Then since they are in your name you might be better off hanging on the them.

JAQ, I think you should give these people their full registration. How arrogant is that on your part? Pretty sillY if you ask me. I would never buy a dog from any breeder that would try to give me limited registration. That's bull. Poor people that bought any dogs from you. Let me guess, you have some top VA stock and you are trying to protect your blood(Germans don't even care about this!) What a crock of ........ I would recommend for anyone who buys a dog to have full registration on their names. WHAT IS YOUR DOGS REGISTERED NAMES? I HAVE A FEELING THAT YOU DON'T EVEN HAVE GOOD STOCK!

Question: I bought a dog with limited registration and am soon to title him in tracking and obedience. I have his papers signed by the breeder. There was no agreement about changing the registration. Is there any possibility of changing the limited to full in the future if breeder is ok with it?

GSD MAN: Are you serious????????????????????
Many/Most reputable breeders in the USA sell their puppies to PET HOMES with limited registration and restrictions on breeding. Are you so ignorant as to think that every dog should be considered "breedworthy" regardless of many considerations such as hips/ elbows...or perhaps even TITLING?
If you do not underststand why a breeder would sell puppies with LIMITED REGISTRATION then why not ask instead of attacking "JAQ". You might just learn something!

Only the breeder can change limited registration to full, depending on what the agreement was between him and the puppy buyer.
