I seen a lots of bashing here some of them are just not called for but where we do need input on NO ONE ever says nothing.

I noticed reasontly  in an breeders advertising that they sale GS pups for excamble $ 600 with CKC reg. $800 + with AKC

same Dam and Sire, now I done some research on that, the reason why its done like that is: So they can use the stud over and over without having him DNA, since AKC requires DNA after somany stud services by a Stud dog performed. CKC does not require that.

In my opinion I consider that a puppiemill . The thing is they consider them selfs as Ethnical GS Breeders but talk bad about others. These are the breeders who need to be taken of the market because they give our breed bad reputation because they don't care about Breed Standart, health or Ethnic.

Delacruz, I learned a few years ago to be very careful who you question on this board. It's a double standard.  Some can do whatever they want and get praised for it while others get slam dunked every time they open their mouthes.  Lot's of luck if you are talking about who I think you are. Their entourage will back them on everything and you will end up looking like the bad guy. Been there, done that, never again.

Depends on which CKC you mean.

If you mean CANADIAN Kennel Club, that is a legitimate registry and the Canadian equivalent of AKC.

If you mean CONTINENTAL Kennel Club, this is a questionable registry used by many puppymills and BYBs and other "breeders" who have had their AKC privileges revoked or otherwise can't even meet AKC's very few and simple regulations.

For me, it's simply a matter of registering only with an organization recognized by the FCI, in the USA,  that's  AKC, so that's the only game in this town.  In Canada if the  Canadian KC is recognized by the FCI, then I don't see a problem.

It's CKC Continental Kennel Club

I'm no fan of the AKC but they are, by far, more stringent on what constitutes a valid pedigree of a purebred dog. You can take any mutt and register him with the AKC.

The AKC has more prestige and can give the buyer more assurance of what they are getting because they know it's a stricter process for registration.

No conspiracy aimed at the CKC. I wouldn't buy a dog registered with the AKC because I think it's shady (even more so than AKC).

I find alot of Pet store pups are registered with CKC. Although all registries are subject to breeders being honest. AKC has been around and is reconized by most other registries. Here's a question. Can you register an AKC limiited pup under a full CKC?

by Blitzen on 08 February 2008 - 17:02

I think you could register a shep-a-poo under a full CKC. They don't care if it's purebred. The area amish puppymillers use the Continental Kennel Club. or another bogus registry now It takes them out of the AKC paperwork loop and they can breed all they want to whichever dogs they want without being held accountable.

The C.K.C. is a joke (contenential) If your a puppy miller or a Amo there for you, I,m not at all  impressed with the A.K.C. but there atleast there.

Correction-I meant to say you can take any mutt and register him with CKC not AKC.
