Please list who you think is the best overall producing male in both confirmation and drive.  Please list currently active males who are residing in U.S.,  they don't have to be born in U.S.

 Folks,

Once again, the word is CONFORMATION....not confirmation......to conform... vs to confirm.......

Unfortunately, questions such as these are simply a matter of opinion. It will undoubtedly once again engender the arguments relating to showlines vs working lines. Who can work and who can not....what is a proper structure and what is not.

Ask and answer away, but please spell the word conFORmation correctly.

I think your forgetting to ask the most important question........HEALTH!   IF the owners will fess up!    Are these males producing good hips/elbows...how about the dreaded EPI....megaesophagus.........what good is conFORmation and drive with bad heath???

 Jager,

Thank you! And yes, your question is VERY pertinent. It is the TOTAL package we should be looking for.

by Louise M. Penery on 07 February 2008 - 00:02

Potentially, the best producers of the "total package" are not the most frequently studs. IOW, your question begs the point in terms of relevancy because the"total package" is not always the top-winning package.

Don't forget the maternal side of the equation. The perceived value may vary according to whether a bitch has 10 litters during her lifetime or only 2-3.

I was also very impressed by Hoss's progeny group at the NASS- I believe he had a son in the working class that did quite well, his progeny caught my eye several times not only with their beautiful type and correctness, but by their very spirited personalities.

Zidane v.h. Sevens WUSV.  Great producer.

Merlin v. Conneforde, WUSV, North American tracking champion, DVG champ, USCA champ, etc.

Kanto vom Firecatcher SchH3

I've had great litters from these guys.  If you want details, you can email or PM me.

I want to send a female to Zeppo van't Leefdaalhof SchH3, a solid black Ufo Guy's Hof son, before he gets much older.  I think his genetic potential has not been properly appreciated in the USA, whereas, if he was in Europe, he'd get a lot of breedings.

I think my stud Athos vom haus Sevens SchH3 is going to make fantastic pups for me.  I've seen one of his pups in Belgium in person, she was great, and I've had email from the owners of his pups from around the world who are doing well with their pups.  BUT, I don't have any pups from him on the ground myself just yet, so I cannot report on how he produces here in the USA.
