10th Indian Sieger Show - Page 1

The Indian Sieger show in Hyderabad can be considered a great success as far as the number and quality of entries, venue, floodlights and the weather were concerned. The organisers deserve a pat on their back! The GSD Club of India ought to think in terms of making the Sieger show a Two-day competition as it is impossible to judge 250-300 entries in 10 hours and the whole show turns into a farce! The presence of VIPs from Germany- Tina Martin (Arminius 2000), Gerd Dexel (Haus Dexel), Heinz Scheerer (Huhnegrab), Juergen Wicht (Team Fiemereck) and a host of Handlers added glamour to the show but at the same time had negative impact on the results.

The cut throat and bitter rivalry that exists among breeders in Germany had an influence on the show and is bound to spill over to other Indian shows as well. GSD lovers in India have reasons to feel cheated and let down by the standard of judging at the show. Being SV Judge does not guarantee honesty and integrity. The DVD will be available for sale within a week, for all to see and I hope this prevents blunders made in Hyderabad from being repeated at the 11th Indian Sieger show to be held in Coimbatore.
