Oli,

Since we have no moderators on this board, I thought that maybe theirs a way to make it so when people start up their own threads that they can only moderate their own thread prograss and if theirs any trolling involved... the thread starter have the ability to remove the post or block the troll from posting to their future threads.

Interesting, but it has holes.  I don't think it would work for 1 reason.  As soon as someone disagrees with your philosophy, you are going to delete and block the person.  You say tomato and I say tomato.  I can no longer post on your thread.  Seems to add to the immaturity .

Allaboutdogs,

I wonder!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That is a pretty bad idea!  And it is bad because some people that can't help but make ignorant comments would block anyone who would make an intelligent correction/suggestion!  Anyway, what would stop a person from starting a new thread in regard to the DUMB ASS COMMENT!?!

ROFLMAO!

Ok.  >>>composing myself<<<

Come on, everyone.  What better way to promote the dissemination of misleading, incorrect, defaming information and gossip for all to learn by than that?

I ask you.  Have you ever heard of a better way?

>>>resume laughter now<<<

There are a few moderators, and I do try to check the forum/comments as often as I can.  But the sheer size of the website now,  makes most of my "website" time go into administration stuff regarding the server and database.

the problem is is with "good" threads that go bad,  i,.e.  in reply > 10 an argument starts.  Thats what slips through the cracks most of the time.

I have been working on a subscription model for the website.  I have spent the past weeks going through the API from paypal to have them handle the payments and sensitive informations.   Right now I am working with a tough problem where Paypal API (programing interface) doesn't handle the user-id's sent from pedigreedatabase.com.

The idea is to create a way for regular users to support the website (cost will go into paying the new server its running on and the ever-increasingbandwidth usage).  Everything that is possible now under a free registration will continue to be free.

For a start supporters will get:
  a) Ad-Free environment (all google ads and classified ad will go away) speeding up page-load times <- Already implemented
  b) Supporters Forum, a closed cross-breed (single forum for all breeds), just for supporters.  Since its closed, search engines will never be able to crawl the content and display it in the search results (as its doing to the forums now) <- Already implemented
  c) Ability to register Show and Trial results (similar to the current BSZS/BSP) for any dog they want. <- half way
  d) Ads in the classifed section (with picture) that is shown on any page gets 5x more circulation than others <-  Already implemented

this is what I will start with,  and in the future I may (or may not :) add more interesting stuff to the those subscribed.

oh, and of course, those that are subscribed and send questions/requests/etc.. will of course get preferential treatment

Please, please tell me both are jokes..............

You see what I mean Oli? I'm trying to contribute something to the site and I receive off topic discussions from the following members Allaboutthedawgs, FionaDunne and Betty. If you install a script where thread starters can moderate their own threads, the message board would be so much better. If you have a youtube account, checkout their comment section and see how it works. Youtube has a script on the comment section where the video uploader/members can issue a "spam" mark on inappropriate comments. Certain people just cant seem to stay on task here, their minds drift to another subject.

Oli I know you're very busy with your personal life and you can't make it your life to moderate this board. that's why I'm thinking of ideas that will save you a lot of time.
