Makes me wonder how many GSD have been exported to Iran.

I tend to be very liberal in my politics. The area around Toronto, the city of my birth, is extremely cosmopolitan and diverse, and I have friends from many different racial and ethic backgrounds. I'm just saying this so you know I'm no redneck who believes the North American way is the ONLY way, and to hell with everyone else...

Geez, can this country and its culture get any more screwed up??

And last week, it was Iraq using a couple of women with Down's Syndrome as suicide bombers!

It makes me want to vomit.

Didn't someone say you can judge a country by how it treats the most vulnerable members of its society? (I'd add pets to that equation too, but when a country is poverty-stricken, animals are bound to be treated poorly.)

Good heavens and of course there is no animal or human abuse in the US or suicide bombers etc?!

Hey, maybe we could get PETA and the do-gooder spay/neuter proponents to move to Iran, they'd be very happy together!

The thread is about dogs being confiscated from their owners in Iran where they are considered unclean and not permitted to be displayed in public. The owners who flaunt that law are being punished by having their dogs taken from them and impounded. Who knows what happens to them then. I think if I lived in Iran with a dog, I'd keep it inside and not walk it on a public street, wouldn't you? I'd also not sell a dog to anyone living in a country where this is practiced.

Yeah, there are horrible things going on here itoo. As of yet, in the US, we  don't snatch dogs from their owners because the religion of the masses' forbids dogs to be in public since they are "unclean".

Good point Langhaar,

Good point Blitzen,

My point,  I know the world sucks, that goes for everywere.  Do I want to try to control the lives of everyone everywere?

No one should.     Know what you can change and dont waste time with what you cant.

No, we can't do anything about Iran, but it's a good heads-up to breeders to be careful where they sell dogs. Not that it will matter to some, but others might think twice.
