Brittany,
Today my young male bit me as I was working the dumbell, after reading your post on the "not for beginners" thread: http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/bulletins_read/165301.html I have decided to have him PTS. Your knowledge of the German Shepherd Dog is so vast, thanks for sharing it so often.
I have also decided that my next GSD will be of proper temperment, so I am going to look for a big show-line dog that, when placed in a similar situation, will roll over and piss himself.
Thanks again for sharing your knowledge.

OMG that's hilarious!

What did you do when he bit you ?

"Pissing" myself laughing here.

PLEASE DO NOT HAVE THE DOG '"PTS"... if that is the acronym for 'put to sleep'. Have the dog evaluated by a knowledgeable professional who is experienced in working with strong, dominant type dogs. Your dog might be an exceptional, beloved dog for the correct handler in the correct situation.
What a loss to take a dog's life so quickly without further research just because you got a 'nip' or bite doesn't call for revenge and destruction...how can you be so quick to condemn the dog? I suspect you rushed into the purchase of this dog and now rush to destroy it. Slow down, get some knowledgeable help, and also realize the most common fear biters are the weak nerve aka 'showline' type dogs. Now dont' people get the knickers up over that statement, but weak nerves are pandemic in the showlines and we all know that; and you need to realize weak nerves lead to bites MORE often than strong dogs.
PLease don't get another gsd until you spend allot of time finding good resources to learn from.

Cindy,
Thanks for your concern. Perhaps you did not look at the link I provided to Brittany's comments in a previous thread? Did the reactions from GSDFAN and FIONA seem odd? Please click on my name, see my previous posts, take a look at my website. I was just feeling a bit like Jonathan Swift tonight and making comment to Brittany"s "Modest Proposal".
Best Regards,

Ah, yes--the solution for the Irish potato famine?

If you really want my opinion, Zahnburg, since you wasted your time trying to get my attention...Don't put the dog to sleep, put yourself to sleep :) It would be better off that way :) By the way... Why are you bashing the Showlines? Do you think all show lines are what you described? Take your anti show lines BS and shove it where the sun don't shine. Both bloodlines can contribute something.
Cindy, don't take Zahnburg seriously, Hes just being an asshole. He rather spend his time harassing me then to put his time into good use.
I'm actually flattered that I was on Zahnburg's mind today during training.

Cindy, I guess I must of got lucky, cause I have 9 showline German Shepherds and not one of them have bad nerves! The closes one I have to having bad nerves is my west German working line Shepherd. Maybe you were talking about the American showlines?

Hi Britt,
I am glad you chimed in. I must disagree with you that this has been a waste of time. I think it has been more fun than a 12-pack and a bug-zapper; of course I don't get out much, except to train.
I am not bashing show-lines. Please note that I did state that I would have to "look" for one like this. (Probably not too hard). However, I would like you to know that I did have a show-line bitch not too long ago. I got her with a SchH1 and I put the 2 on her. V in conformation KKL1 etc. She was an nice bitch. I bred her to a working-line male and got two male pups. A long-hair that is a happy family pet and a dog that I worked until he was two. I put a BH on him and sold him to the police. I am told that he is one of the best dope dogs thay have had and I also heard when he got his first street bite. Gave the poor SOB forty- two stiches in the head. (He was crouched, hiding in the bushes).
I won't reply to the asshole remark because you sound too much like my fiance; and I have found that whan she gets like that it is best just to ignore her. So maybe the same will work for you.?
I could not help that you were on my mind today; dumb and unfounded remarks have a way of sticking in my head. In fact my first thought when the SOB bit me (besides ouch and "Bring!!!") was "I wonder if Brittany would have you PTS?"
Louise,
See what my parents bought with 4 years of private high school at 15K/year plus I forget how much in college? The ability to make vague references that few people get. It does make me feel better that at least someone got it!
