Thank you everyone for your condolences. It will be tough, but life has to go on I suppose.

To the comment before, no foul play is suspected here as this was one of the first things we tried to determine and subsequently eliminated. Natural causes I'm afraid.

Thank you everyone again.

I am very sorry you have lost your dog at such a young age,
I am a GSD breeder and I was wondering if you had a health
certificate given to you when you picked up your pup.

I take all my pups to my vet. & she checks them out quite thorough, as she is a breeder of Bull Terriers,

She listens awhile to their hearts.

One time I had a litter of just 3 pups, 2 boys & a 1 girl, at around 4 weeks old 1 of the boys seemed to
be panting alot more than the other 2, he also didn't gain as much weight as the other pups, so I took
him to my vet, and she listened to his heart & told me he had a raging heart murmur, he had to be euthanized,
it was so sad, but she asked if she could operate on him & see what was going on inside to see if it was
genetic or not, it turned out not to be an inherited condition, which as a dog breeder, that's something you
need to know.

I have not had any heart problems other than that, and also, I do not allow any pups to go home with their
new owners until they have been seen by the vet & get the all clear.

Remember the good times you had with him, he'll always be a part of your life.

God bless your boy and I am sorry for your loss. I lost my Silas, aka Black Mamba, at 14 mo., a  year ago more or less, to a mysterious spreading paralysis that still has no answers, for me, in spite of the cost I paid to try to save him.

Sometimes there are no ready answers apparent as to the why, but in the right time, they will be there.

Yet, still it hurts so bad, and I am so sorry for your loss, again.
