A friend of mine is buying a puppy and she just found out that 6th generation on the father's side that paticular dog had some problems(cancer tempermant)should she not get the pup

In the 6th generation (or closer) of ANY dog's pedigree, you will find at least one who had cancer of some type. Cancer is the number one cause of death in dogs, same as in humans. Not sure what you mean by cancer temperament though? If you are saying a dog in the 6th generation had a bad temperament, that could have been bred away in the generations since, is the pup linebred on that particular dog?
If you have the recent pedigree (3-5 generations is generally what is looked at unless you are doing indepth pedigree research for breeding), you can post it here and other members will comment if they know about the bloodlines. :)
